I'm sure I am in the small minority, but for the absolutely enormous sums it would take to get Bale, I would rather us spend that money on a creative midfielder.

Bale likely has two, maybe three, years left at the top.

Don't get me wrong: it would be tremendously exciting to see Bale back and firing on all cylinders.

But we don't have limitless resources and we have a big creative hole in midfield, and it's a big gamble relying on Ndombele for that this season.

I'm not even convinced we are set up for Bale to shine. At his peak with us we relied on a lot of individual magic from him: 30-yard screamers and individual runs through the opposition.

It would be great if he can still do that but without more creativity in our midfield I can see him being starved of chances and us again relying on individual magic.

I'd rather us see more cohesive forward play in our team. The transition between our midfield and attack has been a major problem for years.

Re. Trix's latest info, it's really sad that Levy didn't push the boat out when we DID have spare cash, because over the last few years we've been sooo close to a trophy, even the title.

Injury prone
Ridiculous wages
Past 30
Man bun

With ANY other player I would agree, it's silly.

BUT there are moments in football and that is why I watch football, sure I want to win and of course trophies but that doesn't stay with me.

Moments stay with me, bale is a moment player. He is something magical, there are very few if any better players to bring those moments. A hatrick away to inter Milan, tearing down the side of the pitch in the Copa del rey, and THAT overhead kick.

He is magical, Berbatov was magical, Klinsmann was magical, gazza was magical. Kane is magical. They are a rare breed and if there is any chance of getting him in you just have to go in 100%.

It doesn't matter what reasons people come up with, no matter how many peps come along and try to change the game into a machine. It's not about that, the game is about glory. Creativity, something from nothing, that anything is possible.

And for me, signing bale is glory. He makes the impossible possible. There is a reason RM gave him that contract, they know, we know.

Do it levy

Fucking hell...

Ideal-world first 18 from what we already have and Bale?

--------------------Lloris--------------------
Doherty--Toby----Dier-----Davies
------------------Højbjerg-----------------
------Ndombele-----Lo Celso-------
--Bale------------Kane-----------Son--

Hart/Gazzaniga, Tanganga, Sánchez, Sessegnon, Winks, Dele, Bergwijn.

I say again: "Fucking hell".
Lucas would be in the 18

Bale would need one good game with a goal from outside of the box and suddenly we cause all sorts issues for teams as you have to work out how to mark Kane, Bale and Son knowing that two of them rifle them in from outside the box
I mean, Son has previous as well...

Troo dat. Probably in place of Sessegnon given that Tanganga can cover both sides.

I think it's safe to say that the geese of Aurier, Lamela and maybe even Sissoko would be well and truly cooked. That's a lot of wage bunce saved right there as well.

He only wants to play for Wales because he doesn’t want to play for Madrid. If he came to us he would be appreciated and therefore want to play for us. He needs a new challenge and will want to prove he’s still one of the best.

You are assuming that he still has the fire to justify his insane salary

Is it possible that given he hasn't played for a while, it could mean that he is able to play later into his 30s rather than 33/34 like most midfielders/strikers?

Just wondering if this has crossed Levy's mind as normally we wouldn't go for a 31 year old...

Nah, mate, you had it right the first time. AIA actually recently transformed their whole PR messaging.

This move would I also suspect be based on the security of the sale of Harry Kane or Sonny at the end of this season.

I would think they are more interested in Harland and Mbappe now over Kane, and as much as we love sonny he isn’t quite consistent enough for Madrid.

I think Kane would be delighted to see us signing quality players, especially one that could create chances for him. He just wants to win.

the more game changing players you have the harder it is for opposition to Shut you down. This we have seen with Man City as well as Liverpool ... and a couple of seasons ago we were just one more top player short of being that kind of team

My read is that Bale and Kane are more private than alphas but are leave their comfort zone because they want to win more than they want to remain quiet. i suspect kane would love bale because the team and he would be more effective
