It's really disingenuous to claim this is just spoilt temper-tantrums.

The bottom line is that we need to be in the Champions League. If we want to get the commerical deals we need for the stadium, if we want to be able to recruit the calibre of players we need to replace Kane (and Toby, Jan, Eriksen, etc), if we want to bring in sufficient income for all of our expenditure.

A "slow and cheap" rebuild is more expensive that a "short and expensive" rebuild as it's 100s of millions we lose from not being in the CL every year. If this "transition season" spreads out over several years then we're going to be in an awful position. It seemed that Levy had finally ceded this point and we were going to make a serious attempt to rebuild this season.

It's how agonisingly close we come that kills me every time. We just never capitalised when we've had the chance..

I think we are fine. I consider this a good window.

Including players in there twice is a nice trick to bolster the squad. No way Dele's a CF.

It's Kane and Scarlett, Son at a massive push. We're short up front. We're short in midfield and we're short in defence.

Yeah, but apparently he didn't. As there is not much evidence to suggest he was 'going for it'. Especially if the Traore rumors are true. The man needs to just keep away from the footballing side of things.

While I like the squad so far. There is nothing to suggest we can push for a top 4 spot. Right now, our squad is more on par with the likes of the Foxes, Villa, and West Ham. We most certainly don't measure up to United, Chelsea, City and Pool.

Perhaps Levy is hoping Nuno can get this team to overachieve. Or maybe he just really doesn't give a hoot about getting into the CL.

I'm so f****d off with the transfer windows. This window was the first time I've been properly involved with some info and I've experienced first hand the positive noises which come out of the club early doors only to be met by exactly the same shit every window! I was told to expect 3/4 more players in and it's ended up being 1.....f***ing 1!

I rated the window 7/10 as I think business on the whole has been decent and Paratici has started giving the squad the much needed revamp it needed. I understand it will take a few windows but we're seriously lacking creativity and no one can argue that. The fact Levy doesn't see it and has pulled the plug on deals when money upfront was requested is quite frankly disgraceful.

I usually give him the benefit of the doubt but he's royally f***ed me off today!

I say it every window but I will no longer get wrapped up in the hype which we always get early on in the window only to be replaced with a sense of disappointment at ANOTHER missed opportunity. I know Traore split opinions but I honestly think if we signed him today then top 4 was ours. If not Traore then another creative midfielder to give us that extra spark.

We simply cannot afford to miss out on CL anymore! Fuck off Levy, you're full of shit!

Hope everyone enjoyed deadline day ??‍♂️

My favourite post ever.

We have made 5 very good signings and moved 5 deadwood players out. We are top of the league and have not conceded a goal beating the champions in the process. I really do wonder how many of you cope in the adversities that life throws at you.

Winning 3 games by a score of 1-0 has seemingly been Levy's justification to stop investing in the squad, on the basis that it's clearly good enough.

We've been here before, where a string of good results were used as justification for not continuing to invest, and look how that turned out.

It's not good enough, it's sloppy bordering on the negligent, and shows that lessons have not been learned at exec level when it matters.

If you want to take people's frustration and disappointment at the same old shit being rolled out and frame it as them being somehow mentally unstable and unequipped to deal with life's hardships then that's on you, but other than in the minds of a small band of pro-Levy simps, you're not saying anything vaguely impressive or appropriate.

I’m actually not as bothered about back up striker as I am the lack of creativity in the middle. We better hope that Lo Celso or Ndombele really come to the fore on that front this season.

Personally, I’d have taken the chance on Aouar today, I think. He has qualities that we have been lacking.

That's the thing. At least we have two players on our books for the coach to work with to try to resolve the creativity issues.

We only have one striker.

Also worth remembering that in January Wolves will have a player on their hands who will only have 1 year left on their contract this summer. So, absolutely can see Fabio making a run at him again at this time. As it'll be the last opportunity for Wolves to fully maximize what they get in return for Traore. I can't see anyone paying Wolves 40 to 50M next summer for a guy with only 1 year left. They'll be very lucky to get 30 to 35m.

If he helps keep them in the PL I can see them thinking it would be a win from a financial stand point

I just don’t get people who are happy with the glaring issues in the squad and the lack of ambition from ENIC.

I will turn up every week and support the team regardless, but I want to see the same support and ambition from the owners and if they’re not prepared to do that then they should sell to someone who will.

We’ve seen this shit before though where we hope to buy a player cheaper down the line, and for any number or predictable reasons it doesn’t happen. It’s Father Christmas thinking- just doesn’t happen
Used to be part of the end of the transfer window bingo ‘deals being lined up for January’

The calibre of players it would take to upgrade on our 1st XI would be very difficult to attract when you play in the Vanarama Europa League and finish 7th. You reap what you sow.

That's not the point I was making. Having multiple players on a list in case of a U turn from the selling club, is not the same as moving on to other targets once Levy U turns on spending.

Has Levy made a U turn, or did he just set a limit and wasn't prepared to go any higher? Surely we want players at the right price, not at any cost?

Yet we've just watched Ings score that incredible overhead. The mind boggles

Do you really think Ings would have come to play second fiddle behind a player who expects to play every game?

Has there ever been an end to the transfer window that hasn't descended into argument? I feel a bit in the middle. Not going to go overboard with optimism over the window or the season ahead but don't see a reason to get upset either.

I think thats a poor squad personally.

Gollini doesn't look capable of pushing or replacing Hugo, granted we havent seen much.

Defence we hope has improved but no guarantee Emerson or Romero settle...Aurier and Doherty we know arent good enough, Reggie very him and miss.

Locelso and Ndombele have been atrocious signings

Up front.an injury away from being toothless. Squad is 7th best in the league. Maybe I am being over critical but that's my opinion.

Maybe it's just me being naive, but why not take a punt on Boubacar Kamara? Helps provide depth for Pierre and Skipp, would only be around 10-12m, and is a relatively highly rated player. We've been linked with other players in that position throughout the window.

Apologies if it's already been talked about on this thread and I've missed it.

It's crazy to me to consider looking at depth for Skipp. Skipp should be the depth for PEH, freeing up room for a better and more creative player in that position.

I like Skipp, but not as a regular starter, yet.

It's Kane and Scarlett, Son at a massive push. We're short up front. We're short in midfield and we're short in defence.

I agree, if you look at this for next summer, we are looking at 2cbs, 2 midfield and 2 forwards/wingers and that’s assuming all the ones we want to keep want to stay. We needed the same this year.

the painful rebuild is putting extra funding/investment in so that we don’t keep pushing the issue down the line for next season but instead buy 8 quality signings and address the issues in one go.

Was more the exaggeration of the number mate. I agree, I'm genuinely surprised that we haven't managed to sign Traore or another striker. I put an actual money bet on it too; that's how sure I was. Admittedly the beneficiaries are Spurs Community, but there we are.
It wasn't an exaggeration of the number though man, that's what we are missing when we're competing in 4 comps. We haven't replaced those goals or players and people can talk about bed wetters, overreacting etc but most of us know that this is going to have a huge bearing on our season and could have a huge impact on a top 4 fight.

Only consolation is that we aren't snal fans but even that annoys me even thinking that cos that such a small club mentality.

Let's all agree Levy is a ***t and has yet again cost us.
