Doherty has played at LWB & LB for Ireland so if he needs minutes he could play there which would allow Spence to play RWB.

Strange going into a game knowing that it's probably better for the season if we lose. Best case scenario some of the fringe players like Spence, Gil and Sarr do well but we get narrowly defeated. It's ok saying that now but when the game starts I know I'll want us to win

Imagine Kane starts and gets some kind of muscle injury. He'll be well pleased to miss the World Cup.....I just think it's a big risk to ask him to start another game during this hectic period. Surely he's on the edge physically; he's missed something like 14 minutes in the entire season - that's crazy enough but coupled with the jam-packed schedule we've had recently, tonight has to be the breather.

We either try and win the whole thing, or just write it off with an entire makeshift second string. TBh I'm fed up with the big clubs treating it like an inconvenience until the semi final. I wouldn't be against all the teams qualified for Europe just not taking part personally(although I get the sponsors wouldn't agree).

I think we can play a team good enough to win it - I can see Forest playing a second string team so would our makeshift beat theirs? It should. We have plenty of players who haven't played much - from Forster to Sanchez, to Skipp, Spence, Gil, Lucas, Kulu. I do think the schedule is a killer

Im presuming this isnt on TV

Hi guys....do you want tomorrow night's team?
I was away sorry for not updating the last two matches...
Anyway...here it is.
Forster Doherty Sanchez Dier lenglet Sess Hojbjerg Skippy bissouma persic kane

No spence
If this is right why are we playing Perisic and not Gil or Lucas. Would much rather he’s rested for the weekend so he can play WB. i was really hoping Gil would get a chance, I honestly have no idea why we didn’t loan him out if he can’t even get a start in a cup game.

He needs a rest and we need him ready for weekend. Start Richy, give him 45/60mins and then bring Kane on if struggling or potential pens.

Richarlisson being back in training this week doesn't mean he's ready for 45/60 minutes. They'll probably want to give him 20-30 and then reassess to make sure he's fully over his injury. No point in pushing him too far too soon, it only leads to the injuries flaring back up. Was the same with Kulu on the weekend. I know Kulu will be getting time over the WC break but surely the aim is to have as many at 100% post world cup as possible.

------------Forster
--Sanchez--Lenglet--Davies
Doc---------------------Sess
------Skipp--Biss--Sarr
--------Kane-----Gil

Spence won't start. Give Kane and Richarlison 45 mins each. Get Kulu, Perisic and Bentancur on for the final 35 minutes if needed.

Crazy that it seems we still won’t give game time to Spence and Gil. Especially when we have no proper RWB and back up to Deki.

Conte obviously doesnt deem them ready. Gil, I get but yes Spence is very strange considering he regularly plays Emerson. But we have to trust him. No point playing them now going into the break and with Jna window approaching.

yes, I've long advocated it being optional for teams in Europe. I'm pretty certain they would all take the opportunity to miss it.

for Spurs i think the sooner we win any cup the better as it will kick things on and help the likes of conte/kane sign new contracts. it's a catalyst.
I also don't think it matters which cup it is, at the end you meet one of the big boys.

so I want a team that's gonna win, but i think resting some players is so vital for leeds. if we can, give Kane the day off (doubt we can). also let skipp and BIss get some minutes to enable the 1st choice CM Pair to nail it at the weekend. I don't see it as 2nd string, i see it as rotation and squad mangement. but per my first statement lets go to win it.

People do realise If we do win this game the next round is when most of our squad are at the world Cup, so will have to play our youngsters and fringe players. So free hit tonight mayswell play them tonight.

Any suggestions for pubs by the ground friendly towards away/Spurs fans.

Was thinking about going to The Boot Room
