To be fair so am I.
Not totally surprised. Whenever I see the likes of Dier and Sanchez in the line up, just know things can quite easily go pear shaped. Those 2 and Davies have been here for years and in that time have never really shown they have the required ability to be regular starters. They were not good enough to start 5-6 years ago and are still not yet we still see them playing regularly. Yes Sanchez is not a starter but none of them can be trusted. I've never been fooled by a run of good games they may have, especially playing in a back 3 and know fundamentally they are not good enough as regulars at this level.
To go from Vertonghen and Alderweirald to those three is like going from a Rolls Royce to a Fiesta. We need solid, quality reliable defenders at CCB and LCB. Jury's still out on Lenglet but can't help but feel he is a stop gap anyway.
