Yeah I do wonder on the timing, the Dutch correspondent on TalkSport last week was saying he's likely to move next summer as 'this summer Feyenoord can ask whatever they want and will be very expensive, they already turned down £5m from Leeds earlier this season.'

But like you say, money talks, and £5m+ for us probably not a deal breaker.

Which is odd, since at the time they said that Slot would not leave for Leeds no matter what. He wants to stay and actually win something before moving on.

Because he knows if he comes to Spurs on a 5yr deal it'll be 5 years without silverware lol.
Sorry for being pissey. Got terminal bum ache right now where Spurs are concerned.

Slot feels like he would be honoured to manage us. As well as having many of the attributes we are seeking from a playing sense. Thats the kind of guy the fan base can connect with

Agreed unless that means he is overawed by it which can certainly happen.

Far as I can tell, he's not been in club football for 8 or 9 years. Only did anything of note with a Barcalona team that anyone would have won with and was just OK at Celta, Roma and Spain. He hasnt stayed at any club for long, falls out with players (Totti at Roma , Ramos for Spain) The football he plays might be boring tippy tappy football or slightly more direct tippy tippy football depending on who you listen to. I'm quite apathetic about who we get next but don't think Enrique has any standout qualities tbh

I don’t think that’s right and I don’t remember any real efforts to get him out of PSG. As I remember it, there was a lot of speculating that it could actually have been good for PSG to release him at that stage and potentially get Zidane in.

Everyone I’ve spoken to says that Levy doesn’t think he was wrong to sack him and even if subsequent managers have not worked, it doesn’t mean that his Poch decision was wrong and so he has no intention of going back.

Levy was not wrong to sack Poch at the time that he did. But he was very very wrong to make the appointments that followed...

He was not wrong but the circumstances meaning Poch needed to be sacked were very much of the club's making from years of mismanagement previously

It seems to stem mostly from him being an "elite manager"....many fans have been scarred from the last two bozos we hired with that moniker.

Im feeling very positive about the next manager as we have been linked with some great managers. My only criterion is that we do not hire someone who looks like an oily faced shark.

Other than that, Im good...

I think for me I’m De Zerbi, Slot or Kompany, in that order.

all would be happy to be at spurs and feel they have something to prove.

they all play attacking football, trust younger players and speak well.

not interested in any big names.

just someone who relishes the opportunity.

Slot over Enrique 100%
I’m sure that will be the general consensus. I must say tho Im a little surprised by how much people here have taken to him considering his short time in management, the league he’s from and lack of any trophies (although obv he wins the league this season). I mean technically he hasn’t even been at a club 2 full seasons yet and has very little experience building a team.

Not that I’m trying to dismiss him or criticise him at all, just merely surprised at how highly thought of he is by those on here.

For me I don’t really have a preference between him, Enrique and most of the others who are still options. I can see the pros and cons to both. Both I think could end up being a massive success or a complete flop. I’d pick Slot over Kompany currently tho.
