Good article here about the path that has led Vinigol to Spurs:

Completely different type of striker I know but it's a story that reminds me of Vardy who was schlepping around the non league and league 2 until Leicester bought him at the same age.
Sounds like he had some bad advice and coaching as a youngster too.

My opinion of him has somehow gone up even more now that I know he's left footed. There's something about lefties, not sure what it is.

From an Athletic piece on agents’ opinions on the best and worst deals if the transfer window:

Cavani wasn’t the only late deal that was described as one of the worst. “Tottenham taking Carlos Vinicius on loan at the end of the window,” answered one agent. “Their target was Ollie Watkins and he wanted to join, but Daniel Levy wouldn’t meet the valuation and started playing games. Those last-minute deals always just seem like filling gaps — they’re not necessarily the right deal for the player and the club.”

I was listening to South American football expert Tim Vickery (who is based in Brazil) on TalkShite’s Hawksbee and Jacobs program.

He said that many Brazilian Portuguese sounds different to native Portuguese and Brazilians can struggle to understand Portuguese people as they speak faster.
I remember listening to that. They had vickery pronounce some English names like Harry Redknapp as Brazilian commentators would say them. Was very amusing

It doesn’t excite me when I see Vini gliding past Ledley and scoring past Hart. I think even Soldado could do that.
