Same as but wonder if that might have anything to do with keeping Kane ? Is one of the senior members and did not seem to pleased when Doherty went.

If Kane did go then would Dier be quickly re-evaluated
Surely he’d understand though if it’s not best for Dier though. No point him being here, not playing and being bad when he does!

Not in this system. One of those CB's needs to be able to recover and mop up quickly. Anticipation is a much needed skillset for sure, but we will get burned against counter attacking sides with pacey forwards purely in the footrace aspect if we don't have pace to counter it. John Terry(I know) was one of the best CB's I've seen for anticipating and reading the game in the back line but you couldn't play 2 of him in Ange's high line.
Very true

I doubt Kane looks at it this way. All we ever hear is that he wants to be part of a team regularly challenging for major trophies. Mates or not, he knows we won't be challenging for titles with players like Doherty and Dier.

No Youtube? WTF is wrong with you all?!

Only 2 headers, none really "defensive". But looks like a great tackler,, pace wit the ball, and really pushes forward.

This is all great, but what’s he like sprinting back towards his own goal line after his fullback gets skinned? Can he pick up a runner in that scenario?

He looks another one who is comfortable driving forward with the ball at feet. Romero can do that and VDV also looks to have that ability. Another we've been linked with (highly unlikely to happen imo), Antonio Silva also appears to be able to do that so think it's clear the type of centre backs we are targeting.

Watched him against Milan tonight, tough night up against Leao and Hernandez. Quicker than I expected but Leao and Hernandez have another level of speed. They did rum him ragged. If he was up against one he may have fared better but against both difficult. Scored a goal gave away pen but I wasn't convinced it was one. Can track runners and read the game with some pace.

I think he's ok I mean it's tough to draw a conclusion when your up against the level of oppo he was up against tonight he also didn't have a lot of help, your not up against Leao and Hernandez at the same time every week

Played on the right side of a back three

The #Tottenham is ready to go to Perr #Schuurs ( #Torino evaluates about € 35M), but under one condition: first #Dier must exit (outside the technical project of #Postecoglu ) on the there are #Bayern and #BVB .

👉🏻 Warning: no negotiations at the moment, but 🇳🇱 is the chosen one for Spurs.

The “warning” is doing a lot here…

This is silly. If we want Schurrs, Dier on a one-year contract wouldn't stop us (particularly when he's willing to go out on loan).

Seemed to be the player we actually wanted as our back up CB when we couldn't sign Tapsoba, which obviously wasn't gonna happen unless we sold Kane.

It’s absolute insanity. 5M worth of salary to Dier would prevent us from getting the CB we want? C’mon. Even levy isn’t that stupid.

I think it's more likely we could shift Sanchez than Dier to make way. I'd be happy for either one of them to make way if we can get Schuurs in. Assuming we can't get Tosin as well.
He's been linked for a while so if anything it's just annoying this is still dragging but I guess it was always going to happen until we shift another CB.
