It's something I've never quite understood that when clubs sign academy players at a really young age why don't they do drills for their weaker foot? e.g basic shooting drills for every one shot you take one with your "natural foot" then three with the other.

It's always seemed odd to me that at pro level they rarely seem to train to be two footed.

Look at O'Sullivan in snooker he's almost as good left handed as he is right handed, he had a bit of natural ambidexterity but he had to work at it to become as great with it that he doesn't even have to think about it now.

What I'm getting at is it's obviously physically and mentally possible that it's a surprise to me more top pro's aren't two footed.

It is achievable. Certainly with the time they have on the training pitch.. For example, a friend of mine was offered the part of Paul McCartney in the West End show of The Beatles, Let It Be.. He started off the show playing right handed - Macca is famously a leftie - skip forward a few weeks, and under pressure to do so, he was playing everything left handed, and had never even tried before. And that is no mean feat. There was only one part in the show where he slipped back to right hand, and that was the solo part he did of Yesterday, where he plays the acoustic guitar in a picking style. So, fair enough.

I was listening to South American football expert Tim Vickery (who is based in Brazil) on TalkShite’s Hawksbee and Jacobs program.

He said that many Brazilian Portuguese sounds different to native Portuguese and Brazilians can struggle to understand Portuguese people as they speak faster.

This is true. I am Brazilian with Portuguese roots and I can't understand my granny very well (she is Portuguese).

Former Flamengo coach and now Benfica coach, Jorge Jesus, was very difficult to understand in press conference. His accent created a lot of memes while he stayed there in Brazil.

Still laughing at the deal Levy pulled off to get this guy.

I am looking forward to seeing him play, but let's wait and see. We have a history of bringing in strikers with good reputations and then they don't quite meet those expectations i.e. Rebrov, Postiga, Zamora, Soldado, Janssen..I am not saying he will be like any of those strikers and I think he has all the attributes to be a success and offer us something different.
It will be fantastic to finally have a striker who offers us a credible choice, when Kane needs a rest or to play alongside him and who has a bit of pace as well..

Difference is that he's coming as 2d choice so less pressure to perform.

The only time I want to see him come on today is to give kane a rest and not because we desperately need a goal!

What if we’re 8 up and Jose brings him on in place of Hugo just to inflict more goals?

Two very good assists and he probably deserved a goal, but overall a very promising debut.

Can’t ask for a better debut really. Strong both aerially and in pressing, intelligent and measured runs off the ball, and two genuinely difficult first time assists.

the best part is, even if he only gave us the first two points without the final assists I’d have been over the moon, it’s so clear he’s the focal point we were missing without Kane.
