ill get negged but although we controlled the game throughout, but we were not exciting, lots of slow bulid up play, good linking today as well which will get better but no pace or up beat tempo, ok neg away :)

I think the tempo and pace of our game will increase once the players get used to each other and are able to anticipate and read each others games quicker.

The Bald Eagle has landed, I can't remember a better debut by a Spurs player!!
Danny Rose(&AVB) should have given all the doubters something to think about.

No negs from me. We absolutely dominated them, thats the plan. We had some thing like 70% possession of the ball. We controlled the game and had a like 20-25 shots on goal and should have won 4/5 nil I was excited ?

Add lamela to that team and we look very dangerous. We are solid in the middle and can play away. I'm super confident about his team.

Well said. Hope people lay off Rose, he's young, he's going to make the odd mistake but I believe he's showing potential.

No neg, but I thought the tempo today was far better than against Arsenal and we'll only improve as the new players get used to each other. I didn't see much slow build up play at all if I'm honest.

The second goal was a case in point. Eriksen suddenly switched the direction of the attack, resulting in no defender being able to close down Paulinho who had the time to slide-rule his low cross to Siggy.

they look a better team than last year too
To be honest I think Grant Holt is a massive loss...He just has something about him, fearless and tenacious, and so strong in the air and holding up play...I don't think RVW and Elmander offer that at all, they had absolutely no outlet today...Holt terrorized us (and other defenses) last year, I think selling him was a bit bizarre. Definitely not a bad side though and Hughton is a solid manager, don't think they'll have any problems staying up and once they spend a bit they'll be an established side.

I think you're thinking about the year before... Holt was piss-poor last season and even tubbier than normal!

Best part was that we were in 3rd gear. So much more to come from this group of players this season and let's not yet think about how insanely good we can become as the younger players develop over the next 2 or 3 yrs.

We might not have the swashbuckling Zorro performances of HR but i found yesterdays game more enjoyable, although i secretly enjoyed the Swansea game, just frustrated at the lack of brain matter in the final 3rd, well it turned up in Eriksen yesterday, i didn't see too much slow play as we looked to build attacks in a controlled manner and moved the ball between the lines well.

How people cannot be excited about players interchanging positions and still retaining control over a game at that level is beyond me, our aim must be to play like this against every team outside the top six (apart from winning the possession war against Brenton :) ).
If we become an efficient well coached winning machine with a dash of flair that will do me just fine..

they're probably a better team overall now but less capable of causing us problems as their change in style suits us better than last seasons style did

Once we start popping more goals in, we will be a foe to be feared by most teams. The squad is beginning to gel with still some way to go but the potential is there for this to be the best Spurs side for many years.

Overall good performance stringing passes in tight space is a joy to watch. Only thing is that Townsend should be more aware of Soldado positioning and pass the ball instead of firing rockets... Hope Townsend continues to mature, still a bit raw and tried to impressed too much by shooting. He will be class once he raked in those assist.

Coys!
