Anyone with me?

Another much criticised player on these boards. Along with the much maligned Andros Townsend.

But watching us play I think we really miss him. He is the only player we have that plays as an out and out winger. We are far too narrow with our inverted wingers.

I hope Poch gets him into the team ASAP.

Not sure why he is so disliked on here. Been a key player for us over the years and is exciting to watch. Much needed!

Sorry, Lennon for me has proven that he is not a fighter when the going gets tough. He loves being on the winning team, and hates fighting when he is a part of the loosing team. Not the man to turn it around.

Yes, another player who hides in attack, that's what we need.

TBF, what we need is a back to basics approach. Natural wingers on their natural sides... none of this inverted cobblers. Every team who visits us just packs in around the D and makes it far too busy. So what do we do? We keep going inside, its gets far too congested and there is never any space.

He was in the team against Brighton, played well, went off injured and is still injured.

No, we need time for our attacking players to gel because the likes of Eriksen and Lamela are excellent footballers and packing the middle with technical players can be dangerous. We need two full backs to provide width and an out ball who can provide decent service..., and a holding player doing an effective job plugging the gaps.

My opinion anyway :)

I can see how Pochs system should work, and in time how it will. Positive thinking, its the way forward...

We don't have any. Well, bar Townsend.

Lamela and Chadli aren't even close to wingers, so any formation playing natural wingers has to exclude them.

Our midfield is lacking a player like Lennon.

No, he cannot shoot or cross, but he runs the ball into the final third, nobody else in our attacking midfield forces the ball forward like he does, he gives us width, and is our best player on the counter. He's also a team player, unlike Andros Townsend who will get the ball up the pitch, then twat the ball into row Z from 40 yards.

It's also worth remembering that along with Lamela and Soldado, Lennon was our best player in pre season.

He certainly deserves a chance.

To be honest our fans cannot complain about no width and pace in the team. It's what they wished for. 99% of posters during the summer wanted Lamela-Eriksen-Holtby-Soldado as the attacking quartet... ;)

... and Lennon. Play them on their natural sides, let them run at the fullbacks and whip in crosses to Kane. Basic but I think we need it.

This team definitely needs bolstering with pace and width. Obviously Townsend and Lennon need upgrading but we need it desperately

Amen bro.. Scrap the highline defence. Play a DM in front of the back 4. Scrap the inverted wingers. Play Townsend .on the left and Lennon on the right.

We need to play with width, I don't think Lennon is the answer though especially in Poch's 4-2-3-1.

I agree with this entirely.

I like Lennon, and more what he brings to team shape. It is no coincidence that historically we have looked better as a team when he has been in it.

But Poch seemingly isn't interested in width.

But in answer to the OP, I do think Lennon should be brought back into the fold but only if we go 4-4-2.

In the system we have seen so far this season however, he is completely redundant and no better than what we have.

We play with two defensive midfielders already?

They just aren't very good at doing it properly!

Lennon has showed more fight than the majority of players used in midfield this season.

Not for me. If we had the 20 year old Lennon right now who used to run at defenders constantly and force them to commit as well as giving us width and an outlet I'd agree.

But the new sensible, play it safe Lennon isn't really what we need.
