Keep thinking this is the most nailed on 0-0 draw I've ever seen then I remember how poor we were defensively at the weekend. Which makes me even more convinced Conte will want Sarr & Skipp to help pack out the defence.

My record at predictions is shocking though so no doubt it'll be an eight goal thriller for the ages

I'll take a 7-1 win anyday

Surprised how many people are suggesting they might not watch this. With the inevitable revival of Chelsea and Liverpool, and Newcastle getting stronger as the transfer windows pass this might be one of our final CL away days for some time. Just enjoy it and get behind the team.
Maybe I'm a masochist but I'm actually looking forward to seeing how Sarr and Skipp do tonight.

Very tough game for 2 youngsters to be thrown into, especially given they've barely played together, but I think both of them are really talented and am excited to see how they get on.

Suspect my feelings could be rather different 20 minutes into the game, though...

Dier and Perisic still getting in the starting line up after their performances at the weekend is so frustrating. Absolutely undeserved

No one else to play though. Other options are worse. Our defense needs major surgery unfortunately

I hope we see Skipp back in the holding role tonight. We will see the real Skipp then.

I’d rather Emerson, Sanchez, Romero, Lenglet, Danjuma. Had enough of certain players getting chance after chance when they’ve proven they are poor. Danjuma is a wildcard but Perisic can’t defend and is terrible on the ball other than his delivery, so how much worse can he be?

To be fair Sess is out and we only really have Lenglet to replace Davies who also was shocking. Tanganga was no better and Sanchez can't play the Dier role either. I'm not sure we have great options. The only defenders who have shown enough to deserve a start are Romero and Emerson who both start anyway. The rest is just a toss up of who is less worse.

His attempt to close down Mendy for the equaliser on Saturday still make me laugh (well, cry...).

You hit the nail on the head with 'enjoy it' though, the issue is I rarely do!!

They played together against Preston... but, well, that was Preston. I know Skipp has it in him; he was excellent last year before his injury, but I don't think he's been given enough minutes to find his form. Conte's lack of rotation has not only cost us Bentancur, but has left our backups without sufficient experience. That said, Sarr looked okay against Arsenal so hopefully the two youngsters can raise their game for the occassion.
Not against Preston they didn't.
Like I say they are good players but young, certainly Pape Sarr is, and not exactly experienced particularly in CL so will need to introduce themselves on the pitch.
I'm hopeful but we need to be fair to them not pile on if they struggle a bit.

Because we have so so many options don't we? Reasoning is non existent!
Plenty of people have suggested alternatives. One being Sanchez in for Dier (Romero CCB) to deal with Leao’s pace and Danjuma for Perisic seeing as he’s played wingback for Club Brugge and the Netherlands in the past

I'd be loathe to lose Perisic's experience in a Champions league game with the losses we already have.

I'm actually looking forward to Skippy and Sarr in midfield, but terrified of Leao and Hernandez feeding Giroud up against Dier and Davies.

I might be in a minority here but I believe experience counts for fuck all if you don’t have the ability to go with it and Perisic has shown for the most part this season the ability is not there anymore. He’d have been fine as a back up but him being our starting LWB is as big a problem as Skipp/Sarr needing to step up in Bissouma and Bentancur’s absence for the rest of the season

We can all agree that Perisic has been in poor form lately and that his strength is not in the defensive work, but blaming him for a wonder goal (very low xG shot) from a player that scored his second goal in his professional career is just adding blame unnecessarily. He was never getting the ball before Mendy so he stopped and went into a blocking position.

Well we can take experience out of the equation and just look at our CL campaign so far.

We scored in four out of our six CL group games. Perisic assisted the first goal in three out of those four. No one in the Spurs squad has more goal contributions in CL.
