HE CAN PASS FFS he cant shoot but he is a good footballer he lays on so many chances per game for wolves they just haven't taken them.

The way people are making him out it’s amazing that none of the top clubs have come in for him. I mean a big fast player who’s only 25 who always beats him man who can pick out a pass and lay it on a plate for his team mates sounds ideal. All the big clubs should be clamouring for him shouldn’t they? Maybe they will after this season if he carries on but my money woukd be on Traore not improving in the areas he needs to improve on. If we sign him I hope he does obviously.

Just imagine kane dropping deep, getting the ball, son and traore bombing on in different directions, both full backs high up the pitch giving options and dele arriving from late.

Is that the point? So you'd spend £50m which is massive money for us, especially right now, on Traore because I don't know who we should sign?

Ok mate you do you

It was just a question. Who would you sign? Otherwise I expect you to be perfectly happy with the team we have now. Because funny enough, our opinions have no relevance for what Paratici will do anyway.

And I'm not your mate.

He's created 9 chances this season in 3 games. A bit of better finishing should have him on 2 or 3 assists at least

Traore last season had jiminez for what? Part of the season before that horrendous head injury and then the kid silva?? To aim at.... this season jiminez is back but, understandably, he is a shadow of his former self (may never be the same again sadly)... kane and son and ali arriving late (itll have to be given traores pace hahaha) will be a blessing for traore... i really have faith in this guy if we get him ... scariest player in the prem in my opinion

It's interesting that in reply to my question of will he score 10 goals himself none of you have said yes. If a chance falls to him in the last minute of a game at 0-0 a £50m forward should show you why you paid that money for him. I bet he wouldn't though.

This feels like the transfer that Sky and Talksport are still going to be excitedly talking about at 10:45pm. Normally in those situations, we don't get our man.

As a BSoAT since page 3 of this thread, I hope we can bring him in. It'd be a very exciting signing - we've got some decent attacking players, but I don't think any of them give you that same sense of anticipation when they pick up the ball.

I suspect something in the region of £40m would probably get it done (despite the public mooted figure of £50m) but I'm not sure if we'd stretch to that.

And 2 games have been vs us and man u, and the other being Leicester who have a good squad and done well in the transfer market again. So not any rubbish teams also.

I don't think Grealish will score 20 league goals for City, which is what i'd expect for a £100m forward. I do expect Grealish to be massively contribute to City winning the majority of their games though. Same thing with Adama and us.

edit: and a pointless doh rating, very mature contribution to the discussion, well done chap ?
Honestly this made me laugh. You can't compare us to City in any way with the financial power they have. That's literally peanuts to them whereas for us it's massive money.

Also grealish has been playing in the midfield 3 and not in the forward line. And give me the chance to reply to my rating chap

Apologies, the thread has grown a fair bit this morning and I’ve not had a chance to keep up whilst at work - is there any new ITK, media reports suggesting this might happen after all?

Would love it to be the case but I’m assuming most of the posts here are wishful thinking - understandably IMO.

I wouldn’t even be so sure he’d get more than 5 or 6 assists either. Which isn’t bad but you’d think the way people are going on he’s guaranteed 20 plus assists a season with us

LOL, your posts are so confrontational. I would imagine, like me, that he'd spend £50m because our coach and DoF are both heavily in support of signing Traore. You'd hope and trust that they're better placed to make this decision than you and I are.

Interestingly, Traore’s expected goals and assists over the seasons aren’t much different to his actual output.

But his xT, this fancy new metric that I don’t really get, puts him in the top PL players last season. The Athletic had various categories for this metric measuring a player’s threat, such as passers and dribblers, and not a single Spurs player was featured in the top 20 for any of them.Traore appeared in two.

in other words, Traore may be pricey for his output but he addresses a glaring deficiency in our team. So that money may go further with Traore thanwe think.

Also finding it really interesting how Lage is deploying him this season. Think the success of this transfer (if it happens) would be down to how we utilise him.

This season he's averaging 4 shots a game - small sample size I know but those are elite numbers (as in, peak Kane and Salah numbers). He scores at about his xG most seasons so if he kept these numbers up he'd legitimately be a 15/20 goal a season player. I think this is because Lage is playing him off the left but letting him go more central and run at CDMs/CBs, rather than keeping him out wide.

If Nuno is planning on shoving him wide right and just letting him beat his man and float in crosses then tbh I'm not sure he's worth anywhere near £50m, but if he's taken some notes from Lage's use of Adama this season and is planning to let him roam more centrally then the upside to this deal would genuinely be enormous. Like, he could become one of the most productive players in the league level enormous.

Yeah and Traore can only dream of doing something like that in his career. Point is, however inconsistent Moura is he actually has quite a lot of footballing ability. Traore is consistently good at beating opponents one on one as he’s a unit and he’s quick but he’s consistently shit in the final third coz he can’t pass or shoot. That he is consistent on.
I disagree, Traore can most definitely pass and that, coupled with the rest of his skillset, makes him the more valuable of the two for me.

Oh no I think I might need to take a moment in that case.

Question I have is, why ask then ?

If he kept up his shot/xG rates from the first few games of this season then he'll surpass 10 goals easily this season. Big if though, I grant you.
