Been linked to him multiple times past couple days. Apparently asking for him (+ dosh) in return for Bale.

Will edit this and provide actual links when im on desktop next.

Could he play out wide? He seems to be very highly rated so it seems weird that (assuming interest is legitimate) he would want to come here and be basically resigned to backing up Soldado, whom we are a bout to spend big bucks on and wouldn't give up on for atleast a couple years at the worst. If he were able to play as a wide forward it would work very well though.
Chadli - Soldado - Morata
Holtby
Paulinho - Sandro
Coentrao - Verts - ????? - Walker
looks good on paper but so many new faces + new formation, it would be like last season all over again.

As I understand, he can play anywhere across the front 3.

I think people are wrong to think we will play 433 no matter what. There will be plenty of occasions where we will play 2 strikers, especially if Bale goes and we don't get wingers to suit the formation. Do people really think we would play Chadli and Lennon in a 433? I'd take Soldado and Ade up top every time over that.

I think we need someone who's actually seen him play to suggest where his best position is.

If he's more suited to the central striker role then that's cool beans as we'll need cover for Soldado, but it will leave us with a massive gap in the wing forwards position.

I'm doing some research into the positions he plays right now looking through some of his most recent matches played on whoscored.com

In one of his best performances, against Barcelona might i add, he played as a RW in place of Di Maria and was voted player of the game. That is pretty noteworthy i'd say. The rest of games for Real Madrid he seems to bounce around between LW and RW, with a couple of sub performances as a CF. For his games in the U21 Spain team he mainly played as a striker in a rotation with Rodrigo, but he had one game where he played LW. So it definitely seems like he can play all 3 forward positions.

If he can play in that wide forward role then I'm all for it.

We'd then have Chadli, Morata and Lennon meaning that if we could tie up one more player in that position, we'd be fairly sorted.

Would you go for a youngster, or ready-made? As the extra forward/winger?

Yeah he looks a young lad of real potential. To me his position is main striker but for quite a tall player he has pretty good ball control and balance and good intelligent movement, so looks more than capable of playing a more wide striker role or interchanging if needed to, I don't think you can describe him as a winger though

His biggest problem is lack of first team experience and I think people would need to accept that he might need a bit of time to both gain a bit more experience and adapt to the PL.

At 1.90m he is tall; I would like to keep Bale, sell Ade, and bring this kid along. Could be decent.

You'd hope for someone ready-made really but without really knowing a lot about Chadli or Morata it's hard to say.

My gut feeling is that Lennon isn't right for that 4-3-3 role, so the other player would have to be established I think.

Don't know much about Morata, but I think we need player(s) plus cash if Bale goes for the simple reason that if other clubs know we have a wad of cash their valuations will go off the scale.

He's a center forward. Modern target man. He's not going to pull up trees as a wide forward ever. If we signed him it wouldbe to play through the middle. Definitely.
