It's not just that, it's political. Perez would come under pressure spending all that money on Bale and letting go another great prospect from the Real academy. Because Barca produce great young players, the Real fans and press want Real to do the same, and have some in the side.
Agreed.

Coentrao is the one that makes the most sense. He fills a need for us and supposedly would be willing to leave and join us as well.

The real block seems to be Real's overpriced valuation of him.

This guys gonna be the real deal.

If we don't snap him up in 3 years time we're gonna be regretting it because he has the potential to be world class but its understandable if Real wont let him go, after all they think he's gonna be the modern day version of Raul.

We should get our ex-players to tap this guy up... fill the media with stories about how we're gonna sign him. Get our current players to say "He'll be welcome, if he signs for us" etc etc...

See how they like it.

Problem with that mate is he may be sitting at home this minute contemplating slashing his wrists at thought of leaving his beloved RM for us...bit different to Bale i think.

Morata sounds a great prospect, but would he really want to join us from RM? would he not fuck off as soon as RM wanted him back, would he be able to fill Bale's shoes with so little top flight experince? i would think this is a risky deal alround for us, though like i said , this boy can be a top top player.

I would sooner we replaced Bale, if we have to that is, with a player that would be more likely to hit the ground running, someone who doen't look at us as a step down,a player like Willian etc...

A player that won't be pining for fucking RM even before he got here.

I'm not saying he should replace Bale. I'm saying we should just make a bid for him. A ridiculously low bid, preferably... that we'll pay off in installments over the next 42 years...

Just get it in the press.

Regardless of the truth of the situation.

We're above that kind of tit for tat pettiness, hopefully.

It would make us look ridiculous - not least because we can't play that game against Real Madrid in anything like the way that they can play it against us.

Besides which, and despite the shitty way that Real have behaved towards us over the past month, there is still grown up business to be done with RM - both now and in the future. No point cutting off our nose to spite our face.
