LEVY PLANNED THIS ALL ALONG. WE DIDNT ACTUALLY EVEN WANT FATI, SET THE WHOLE THING UP, FED IT TO ITKS AND PRESS JUST TO WIND THE FANS UP. GOT TO AT LEAST LOVE THE COMMITMENT

…and all this after the bastard picked the team for Ange last night as well.

Because I was told it was done and he was travelling tomorrow. That's why I'm astounded. Then last minute Levy has done a Levy and Brighton have swooped in. That's enough for tonight anyway, think I'll keep quiet until after the window now as even when we're told something is done, something like this can happen. The bits I've been getting were pretty solid at the start of the window but it's all over the place at the minute so I'll just sit back and moan when we're left short once again with a bloated squad.
We appreciate your info mate. Things can change at the click of a finger. If you have info and feel you don’t want to personally share it then use the Goat. No harm done.

2 days to avoid still being short in important areas whilst having a bloated squad. Piece of cake for our braintrust.

Hopefully the BJ deal can get pushed through at least.

A loan without an option is a fair enough rejection IMO. Pity though.

What a deal for Barca really. Basically sending Fati on a rehab/training course at what is looking like one of the best development clubs in the world right now.

Every chance Fati comes back a £100m+ player and they'd have been paid £10-15m for it!

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Not sure about this deal in particular, as to be honest i didnt even know who he was when links surfaced, but one thing that is grating me is that everyone at a decent level seems to be beyond us financially, even after selling Kane.

We need to be braver, but we never are which is a massive shame

This is the point I've been trying to make in other threads.

I do not like Daniel Levy. I do not like ENIC. I want them both to fuck off.

However, so many people on this site apply no logic to criticisms of Levy and constantly rewrite history, which make said criticisms seem nonsensical and undermines the whole ENIC Out stuff.

We know Fati isn't Ange's first choice. Very few people on here actually wanted him. Even fewer on a straight loan.

Yet look at the number of people shaking their fists at Levy? It literally makes no sense?

100% agree that we should be doing better this window to replace Kane, as I've said a number of times. Also baffled at the lack of a 2nd CB signing.

But if people put in loads of work into this transfer and Levy said no at the end because there was no buy option, then good. One of his better transfer decisions.
*only correct IF we now still sign a CB, ST and alternative WF*

If this collapsing means we only sign Johnson or no further attacking players at all then that’s completely unacceptable and given we’ve seen this movie 🎥 100x the majority of us are past hoping and now just are expecting the impending frustration and disappointment when we end up scrambling last minute for some Danjuma level quality not needed signing and / or the good old ‘we tried’ and nothing more at all.

True but if we sign no one tomorrow or Friday and don’t shift many of the deadwood then that won’t bode well for how levy will ‘back’ Ange in the following windows will it? It’ll just end he same as these types of last minute collapsing deals as usual.
Fair point but Munn is set to begin working soon by all accounts. If this window turns out to be a PR disaster it will only heap further pressure on Daniel to hand control over transfers to Munn/Gabbanini/Paratici, which was supposed to be the plan to begin with.

The business we’ve done in recent windows — Kulu, Bentancur, Udogie, VDV, Bissouma, Maddison, Sarr, Vicario, etc. — has mostly been excellent. If we’re patient I fully believe the current recruitment setup will continue to strengthen the squad, especially once Daniel is less involved.

We’ve got a good starting XI which should see us through until January. Let’s see how the players already in place perform under Ange. As long as the financial backing continues to be there, I’m very optimistic about our long-term future. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

The only reason I'm upset by this is because it was reported Ange talked to him and saw him as an important piece.

I'll likely never hear the absolute truth or know what Ange thinks.

I don't really get too stuck in on the Levy out train and try to just enjoy any positives.

For me all that matters is that Ange gets some players that he wants for his system. If he wanted Fati AND Johnson I do not see it as too much to ask, even if the Fati deal wasn't favorable for us as a club.

So I become pissed when I picture Ange being asked by the board if he'd like Fati, he says yes, calls him, they hit it off, only for the deal to collapse in the last moments. It is a bummer.

Again, I'll never know Ange's actual thoughts in this moment lol

As usual there’s people making out this is a positive result.
News: It isn’t!
It’s a fucking massive cock-up, a waste of time and resources, a lot of hours gone that can’t be brought back, time that could have been spent on a CB, a goal scorer.
Criticism of those who want an end to this club doing the minimum it can get away with on the footballing side is boring.
Time never comes back.

I did a year’s worth of Latin back in 1967/8 - but I google cribbed the above
