I'm not upset we aren't getting him. I'm upset that yet again the transfer business is as always, after a good start, a mess.
Yep this is it

There's yet again absolutely no plan which is why we're casting around loan options with a day to go having sold our best ever Premier League player.

It's pathetic.

Linked to fati... Nah, insane wages, broken, steer clear
Getting fati on loan... WTF is this, we're being rinsed!
Brighton get him instead... Fuccccck we got gazumped by Brighton, the world ended..

Get a grip.
(and definitely don't think about having Ange's style of football with mitoma/ferguson/fati 😭)

Appreciate all the info for what it is. Good intentions etc etc.

Salt and all that.

But I don't think we've had a summer where the ITK has been so 'miss' that 'hit'.
This wasn't a miss? The info seems solid, then we got outbid last minute by Brighton. Fab even mentions our deal falling through last minute. People not liking the outcome doesn't make the info bad.

We don’t need another left winger at the minute anyway.

We should bide our time if the right player isn’t apparent or available. It’s not like we’re going to have much fixture congestion this season anyway. Some fans just seem to want to sign the next new shiny player, and will then give the club / Levy grief when it doesn’t work out.

Brighton can offer Europa League football this season. We can't. We can't even offer cup football now till January.

If it was a straight loan then Brighton would probably be more attractive to Fati as he gets to play in Europe.
I don’t agree. I think most players would still rather come to us for many reasons.

However if this is in any way true it truly shows how far we have fallen.

The situation is hilarious, but are any of you actually mad that we're not going to be developing Barcelona's player for them?

Have some self-respect. Without an option this deal should never have been getting done.
Get your, ‘Have some self respect’.
It’s mainly the time we’ve wasted though. Hope we don’t end up losing out/passing over on someone else we could have signed.

A theory: we had a deal that had something like an option in it. Brighton said, how about a straight loan. Barca said “oh yeah that’d work great, cheers” and binned us off.

Not beyond the realms is it.
No it's not but one of the more prominent lines all day is that Barca were only interested in a straight loan because they wanted to maintain control of the player so it feels unlikely that they'd relinquish that in the first place.

This was done and agreed. WLB was spot on. Daniel Levy the chief master negotiator outdone himself. Medicals was tomorrow.
Reserving judgement until the details of this deal are released.

Huge Levy W if he stopped us from signing him on a straight loan. It’s completely contradictory to the rebuild we’re trying to do under Ange. We need to build a team for the future and look well underway to do so with the first XI. Signing a player from Barca for a year is what you’re doing if you’re desperate and in win-now mode or you’re a small club willing to develop a player you could never sign permanently.

The only player we've been linked with all window other than Maddison that I've actually heard of and seen play 🤦‍♂️ All Levys fault 😭

NGL I do like that DL is getting burned this window. Years of being a **** negotiator finally coming back to haunt him.
