I'm going out on a limb here and say I don't think we'll be buying this guy. Obviously we've been interested in him but when he made it clear he wanted elsewhere and we were a back up we quite properly concentrated on our other options. I'm not saying we've elbowed him in a huff but in this situation those other options inevitably move up the list so he quite probably isn't our main target now at all.

I’d say Milik tallies up with all the ITK we’ve been getting in the last week..

- JJ’s latest information that ‘nothing’s changed’ leads me to think that it was a player that had been away in international duty.
- Also, Herc saying that the money is there for a striker (MONEY IS THERE FOR STRIKER!
If age is right, profile right etc, we WOULD spend decent in excess of 25m for a striker. There are 2 certains (meaning talks) taking place with two non-English strikers, age between 21 & 25. If?! We could wrap one up we would do it.)

I think all the clues are there, and I’d be happy with this this one myself.

Milik is a weird one. In the above article I linked it seems he was in a transfer triangle with Juve and Roma, basically showing him to be Dzeko's replacement only (i.e. Roma wouldn't buy without first selling Dzeko). Juve I think set their transfer targets by who is available on a free so want Suarez+I don’t think Pirlo likes Milik.

However ADL has been super consistent in saying Milik will be sold, he’s a shrewd guy and almost never lets players go on a free. He will go somewhere this summer.

FWIW he has a lot of class, but not a lot of pace. Style wise, not necessarily quality, it’s like Giroud mixed with Benzema: big, left footed and occupies space, but also a really outstanding playmaker and intelligent player. He reminds me of Lamela on the ball almost, they have that upright left-footed style and like to turn and face the goal. Sometimes he looks like a #10, really good vision and passing and a nice shot on him from outside the area. I think he could really excel as a playmaker interplaying with Kane or a central striker with Son/Bergwijn off of him. What’s weird is that is almost the complete opposite of someone like Daka, Watkins, or Callum Wilson who like to use their pace and play off the shoulder. It’s not that I don’t want Milik, he’s the most talented striker we’ve been linked to, it just seems odd compared to our other targets.

I can't believe Edin Dzeko is still playing tbh.

I once shared a lift with him late at night, he was getting off with a woman who definitely wasn't his wife.

Yes this is ITK and I'm happy for it to go in the RO.

Depends what you define as under the radar. Linked in the past certainly but not being mentioned by any media at all when JJ tweeted at the weekend. Could be we were working away on this over the last month without any press chat ie. Under the radar.

The press coverage of our pursuit of Milik has ramped up somewhat over the last 6 hours ....

Got a feeling this is the one but I've had that before only to be proved wrong. I'll ignore all those times however if this is right.

Trouble is, here it’s in the Express. The beacon of bullshit of transfer reporting.

I think it is him we want though. Initial links and then it goes quiet. Happened with both Hojbjerg and Doherty.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we need to sell a couple of players though and that’s the hold up somewhat.

That could be down to the versatility of Kane in that he would be compatible with either an out and out forward (dropping into the number 10 role) or alongside someone like Milik (where Kane is the out and out forward). So it gives us more options as far as the type of striker we can look for. It sounds like we're simply trying to get the best player we can for the money we have (around 20m I guess) rather than identify a particular type of player.

Only issue is his injury record is absolutely awful.. If him and Kane can work in tandem of being injured at separate times would be appreciated

Injury record cannot be predicted. You can buy a player with no injury record & he could be injured in the first game...
As for as Milik his long injuries came 2 yrs back

Thanks, I'm not of the opinion he is on our list and your post explains his style of play very well which leads me to believe we wont be bringing him in.
