I think football fans often make the mistake of looking for consistency in an inconsistent world.

Someone on one of the podcasts recently made a point. Every time Spurs or Arsenal would win a game and then lose one people would always come out with "they're so inconsistent". And his point was yes that's why they're fighting for fourth place. If a team was winning consistently they'd be fighting for the title, but in the end only a couple of teams can do that.

There are lots of very lazy terms used in football. Few more than 'inconsistent.' It's just not used correctly the vast majority of the time.

We came from behind in several matches last season and showed brilliant grit and determination...but if we ever draw from a winning position or lose its "spursy" or whatever nonsense.

30 minutes in and they’ve talked about is us ? it’s killing them. Deluded American ( no offence to our American friends ) still thinks the stadium will cripple us ?

Not watched the video but noticed in general that all they focus on these days is us as a gauge for their success/failure, their players fall into that trap too. Their levels have been lowered so much that it's the only thing within their reach. I think they'd be happy to finish 8th if we were 9th.

It's a fan base built mainly on glory hunters in the period of success who desparately want to be able to say "neener neener, I'm better than you..." It's the reason most of them started supporting them in the first place.

They fabricate even the smallest of victories in the face of glaringly obvious defeat, it's killing them and quite amusing!

Presumably Arsenal thought they wouldn't be able to get in 2 strikers this Summer and so Nketiah was the easier (if overly expensive) options.
I was just looking at his stats...

5 PL goals. 2 against a terrible Chelsea performance. 2 against Leeds where he was gifted the first. And one against a weakened Everton team that had just avoided relegation.

£100k a week?

So no goals outside the last 7 games. Is that right? Is my app faulty? ?

5 goals in 8 starts, he never got real minutes before that

Yeah it's an odd one. That Lee from AFTV was talking about how imperative it is to stop finishing below us and a lot of his hurt comes from how they are now behind us in various aspects. Now I hate Arsenal as much as the next person and will always hate them more than Chelsea for example despite some feeling otherwise but I think a hell of a lot more about Spurs just doing well than Spurs doing better than Arsenal. I'll be honest in that with the seasons in a row we've finished above them, it's been nice for a bit of bragging rights and such but I've never actually greatly dwelled on and revelled in the fact that we've accomplished that. Despite all that there is a part of me that respects someone who still sees the rivalry as he does and to the degree he does.

Like you say though it shows in their players as well. The great thing about the recent NLD is how much more professional we looked. They looked like the desperate, overly-emotional children on the day whilst we looked like the calm, sure of ourselves mature team that just saw it as a game we needed to win and get the job done in.

That fat American twat believes our £150 million cash injection is going towards paying off our stadium debt...!!! I guess he hasn't yet figured out where the money came from and has failed to read anything about it.

I thought the one with the most accurate opinions was Kenny Ken. He seemed to have a real handle on reality.

I couldn't sit through all of it, I found my eyes getting heavy after a half hour.

Most entertaining. Robbie actually said it’s ok to give Nketiah £100k a week because there’s no transfer fee. He’s your player ? he actually said that 3 times wtf.

They sure like their Brazilian-related signings:

Pablo Marí
Willian
Gabriel
Gabriel Martinelli
David Luiz
Edu

The issue is, players like Martinelli and Marquinhos are far from the finished article so they'll need at leats 2 years to get up to speed and adapt to the PL as well as develop.

If Arsenal continue down this route they won't make leaps to winning titles because by the time the likes of Martinelli fully develop, bigger clubs will be sharking them.

Just think about this. If we operated in this manner, Conte would run a million miles away.
