People on here think we are way better than Arsenal and it’s just not the case. They could feasibly come ahead of us this season considering they can rest their big guns in the Europa. They are well coached and have built their squad impressively these last two summers
What have they added that makes them so much better? They still have the same mentality. They will be up near top 4 for sure but they will flatter to deceive.

Jesus who is a great player and a huge upgrade on Lacazette. Zinchenko is also a gigantic upgrade on Tavares who had to play lots last season because Tierney is a crock.

Tbf the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. I think they're gonna be pretty unpredictable.

Can see them improving and getting top 4 just as easy as I can see them underwhelming again .

This team looks similar to last season. Very fast starters, and then they gas out. If you can keep them quiet for the first 20 mins you've got a good chance imo.

They have improved I agree! However they are still soft. Jesus is a good player but I’d be surprised if he gets near 20 league goals. Today for example they got gifted 3 goals. No doubt they will be good in spells but i don’t see them finishing above us.

I'm a worrier, I don't want Arsenal to be good, but after watching them beat Seville 5-0 currently, I'm not worried. This team doesn't look as good as their results suggest imo. We shall see in 1 week.

They'll be good this season no doubt, I expect them to start very well with a favourable fixture list.

I just fully expect us to be even better. I think we have better quality across the pitch and more depth. They have no one on the level of Kane or Son.

The europa is no joke these days either. They can't just chuck out a carabao cup team every week and expect to get through.

They've a good squad no doubt.

We'll really see what they're like when the time comes mentality wise, cause they absolutely shat themselves when it mattered last season.

I still reckon they may struggle to find consistency like last season, capable of blowing teams away one week and crumbling the next.
Still think they're crying out for a proper leader in the middle.

Its not about worrying but to dismiss them would be stupid. Look if we won 5-0 I dont think we would be all giddy but we would certainly think we look good and cause for optimism. If Richarlison perhaps or even Kane/Son were scoring the numbrs that Jesus is scoring we would be lauding him to have the best season ever - actually are saying that. So I think whilst you dont need to be worried (thats your call) its certainly misguided to dismiss them

Of course Scum are going to be in the top 4 battle... they will also have very good periods of results as always under Arteta. But they will fade away come May...

How many minutes on average did they play? Can’t be more than 20-30 minutes which isn’t really noteworthy for a fit young athlete

It's not just about minutes played though. It's the travel and the big advantage that teams not in Europe have longer to prepare for their next league match.

We beat Roma 5-0 in preseason then proceeded to get 3 points from 8 games.
Lets not start pissing our pants yet

Misguided's my middle name buddy. I just don't see them doing much in all honesty. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something that screams they'll be no marks.

Very good point... and Arsenal had no European games last season. Still didn't manage top 4... this season they have the EL. ?

Jesus is a very good player. Watched his rise at Palmeiras and genuinely thought Brazil had a number 9 who could get to levels they've not really had since Adriano. Brazil had had some shocking 9s prior to that (Leandro, Jo, Fred), so I was certainly hoping he'd buck that trend.

However, and whilst he has been far from a disaster, he hasn't really reached that level. Not just at City, but for the Seleção also.

Which leads to 2 thoughts. Either he simply hasn't been as good as first thought and can't reach the level expected or Pep coached a lot of his good traits out of him and he's lost some confidence whilst being there.

We will find out this season I feel.

Good result for Arsenal, no shame in saying they've had a good preseason. It is only just that, preseason, but we'd all be laughing if they'd lost every game still despite that. All the accumulated optimism will evaporate if they go on to lose to Palace though.

I feel the opposite for some reason. Id love it if you were right and they were just meh.... the only thing id say is that they strike me as mentally weak and dont think Arteta is that man to instill all that the way Pep, Klopp, Conte can do.
