There was a Tifo_IRL video last week asking "are Arsenal worse this season?" and the host (who I believe is a gooner) did everything to dance around it without actually saying yes. It lines up pretty well with what we see - they're more solid defensively but they've totally lost their potency going forward, which is what made them play the breathtaking football they were playing last season.
