Heart says what a great pre-season tournament to be in, alongside some of the worlds biggest clubs, can only be a good thing. Head says watching Ronaldo strutting around bear chested after putting his 6th past Vorm, while we watch pictures of Hugo in talks at PSG emerge on Daily Mail, won't be so fun.

Levy promised Poch no tour or heavy traveling. Now we're going to the west coast of the US likely for a week, and then to Germany for a few days.

BSODL's forgettin that already, lol

Are you party to all discussions between Levy and Poch?

Have you seen some kind of written contract between the two which backs up your claim?

As a consequence, do you know precisely what has or hasn't been agreed - and I mean precisely?

Or is it just that you've read a scrap of "itk" or a report by some hack in some rag that claimed that Levy had promised "no tour or heavy travelling"?

I'm guessing the latter.

In which case, you're basing your argument on nothing of substance and the know-it-all, accusatory nature of your post (towards Levy and towards the......"lol"......sigh......BSODL) is more than a little bit silly, don't you think?

Poch has said this evening we won't even be spending 24 hours in the states, so that's not going to be a long trip.

This would be good, Bayern would really test the pressing game considering we'd have about 0 of the ball.

Would be a good sign of our reputation to be included with those teams.

Yeah or they wanted a whipping boy and invited us having seen some of our defensive performances while they were scouting our players :sour:

It should be fun though, Ronaldo against Walker in his current form would be worth the price of admission alone

I think we'll produce a shock and win one of the games though, it will be the catalyst that gets our hopes up for the new season and sends us back into top 4 mania.

You do realise London to Germany is less than 2 hours away by flight. Not exactly the travelling and jetlag to cripple a squad

Oh piss off you bumder, next season's a write-off now and you know it

out of interest, danbrek, do you think kane should be rested from aus, eng u21, usa, germany or none of these? how do you think the best, sorry best paid chairman in the league will fare in giving him some competition through the summer market? klose on deadline day, or better than such a silly speculative extreme? frazier campbell had his moments last season. think that polish geezer is past it now.

You know what, stiff bones (that's how it goes, right?.......change a few letters in people's names....because it's really funny?), I haven't a clue what's going to happen this summer. And I'm not much interested in trying to predict it. I'm looking forward to taking a break from watching my team lose at football and will be watching my cricket team lose the Ashes instead.

But if it pleases you to think about all the shit or past it players we could sign, then you go at it, fella. I won't stop you.

If Liverpool and Goons reach the FA Cup Final this weekend there is a good possibility we will be in the first qualifying round of Europa!! One week Real Madrid next Dinamo Donetsk?

i see youre well short of optimism otherwise youd have come straight out with it

you fail to link our beloved club going backwards again, with no decent signings last summer or winter just gone, to he who shall not be held accountable. i fear we will end with more of a whimper, although in the continued absence of investment in the playing squad i too pray a golden crop of kids can come good and encourage fans who spend a fortune following them.

and theres no sustainable roi trotting the globe with a mediocre team. ive been lucky to be at the table when spurs sponsorship propositions have been presented to leading global corporates and their reaction is always the same. 5th, 6th, 7th, we wont assciate our brand with such positioning.

oddly enough youre happy to predict we will lose again to the Aussies, then again we can all do that.

if youvecread this far, agree about the silly name calling.

You have me confused with someone else, mate. I haven't mentioned Levy at all other than to question whether yankspurs was really party to his discussions with Poch about this summer's friendlies.

And yet we've done reasonably well with recent sponsorship from a global blue chip company (HP), from a well respected, mid sized financial services company (Investec), and from an Asian insurance giant (AIA).

The games in Malaysia and Australia will be part of our arrangement with AIA, while also helping to grow our fan base in that part of the world. The MLS All Stars game will help to grow our US fan base. And hopping over the Channel for the Audi Cup...........well, that's hardly globe trotting, is it? Not to mention that we're hardly going to turn down the opportunity of a game against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich (and maybe both).
