Carrick...There's a reason Carrick plays for Man United and Barry plays for Aston Villa. A lot of Manchester United fans rated Carrick highly last year. He got off to a poor start this year, perhaps because of pressure from Hargreaves and Andersen, but he's playing well again. The problem is he isn't playing consistently.

Ahh but thats not the question, it is obvious that Carrick is better then Barry, but the question is who would you like to see in a spurs shirt.

My answer still stands, regardless of how you phrase the question. Carrick. If Barry was in a Spurs shirt I'm not even sure he gets into our First XI. He probably does, but with Huddlestone's improvement, I might rather have him as our holding midfielder.

Can't see why any of these should be seen in a spurs-shirt since there are about 100's better midfielders in Europe....and for less money.

Barry all day long

I always felt Carrick wa overrated with us and he's been wank for Man Utd this year.

he did a job, but nothing exceptional and lost the ball a lot.

If we had Carrick back, with a relatively fit Berbatov, Woodgate and King and with a wee bit of luck, we would be challenging for the title next season.

Carrick is obviously better and would be a great addition, but I'm confident JR will do better bringing in one or two superior midfielders in the summer anyway .

O'Hara looked as new G. Barry, if he continues playing well like recent weeks and stayed fit, the are no need to discuss or suggest about signing Barry and pay money for smilar player.

Carrick is very good player, but i think we should go for better player, not a step back. I'm still sure we can get better player in Gonzalez as SS57 said.

Carrick for me, he is a superior player with a great range of passing. I don't have a problem with him leaving for Man Utd so would welcome him back if the opportunity arose.

But to be honest if he stays fit i'm very happy with Tainio and I'm confident if we need to strengthen this area Ramos will find someone more than capable of doing the job.

If I had to choose it would be Carrick but I'd prefer a slighty harder defensive midfielder to be honest, as during his time with us Carrick would sometimes go missing against the 'rough' teams e.g. Bolton.
