Ajax by an absolute mile. Never thought we'd get to a champions League final and can't see it happening again any time soon. We'll qualify for the champions league more often than not. Missing out one year won't break us by any stretch.

Do I care more about just being in a final we have slim chances of winning than actually getting Top 4? Absolutely not. Top 4 will benefit our club for the seasons to come (transfers, money etc.). Being in a CL final doesn't, unless we win ofc. But again, beating Everton has to be the main priority. It's a shame saying that because I thought we'd be able to go all out on Wed with our focus purely on Ajax and the CL after wrapping up top 4 today. I believe we will still go all out but you can't deny the fear of possibly missing out of top 4 will have creeped into the minds of the players.

we could play for the next 30-40 years and not get to another cl final. i mean look at city who have thrown a billion quid or more at it and they still haven't managed it, with the level of spending at other clubs it's a nigh on impossible task and playing in a european final would be a historic moment in the club's history. not getting top four would be a set back but hardly an unrecoverable one. it's not like 10 years ago where we were an outsider hoping for the other clubs to slip up to give us a slight chance of sneaking in, we're a big club now and there's no reason we wouldn't get ourselves back amongst the top four fairly sharpish.

If it brought so many attractive players and so much money we desperately need then a) we would have recruited them in the last few years of consistent CL and b) The teams that have been in and out of the competition for a few years would not be able to attract the players they do (yes some have more money and history, but if they're going to choose them regardless then us being in CL is irrelevant)

Because now we are finally in our new stadium and everything is in place, no CL would really be a disaster
