But we got lucky tonight... so that's 2 points gained
Aside from the Kane clearance off the line Burnley had a few efforts from range that were comfortable for Lloris. A team that sits deep and restricts us to few chances are going to be difficult to break down but we managed it. Dont think we were lucky, we managed the game very well after going ahead and dealt with them well overall.

He really does, but second half he was better with getting into space rather than running behind an attacker.
I disagree completely. Most of what Sissoko does is quiet work off the ball, and that's why he gets picked time and time again for both us and the national team.

I know watching Burnley is painful and they're anti-football and cynical and all that, but I thought they were very good today and have to give them credit. As poor as we were, we won’t play many harder games this year. Great 3 points

They are very good at what they do, but it’s fucking horrible to watch. They’re also a dirty team. I don’t dislike Dyche and he’s done a good job there, I hope they go down this year.

they are Stoke from 10 years ago. I hated that away fixture.

Sounds like that was a good game to miss most of. Turned it on and Son scores straight away. That never happens!

Happy with the result. Had we not capitulated v West Ham we’d be top on goal difference.

Got out of jail there a bit but we were due a bit of luck considering the robberies against Newcastle and the spammers

We werent lucky tonight, we edged it, but it's funny that a few months ago people would probably agree with this. This performance could easily fit within last season, and the atmosphere would be toxic even if we won, but because mood is high lots of people are more positive than the performance really warranted.

Burnley were burnley, they played reasonably well but will be disappointed with their reaction in going one nil down. They haven't won yet this season for a reason. We lacked fluidity, that is an issue we can suffer from, but in the end managed to get the win. This is great, I'm always happy when we win. But I hope we are much better against Brighton, which can be a challenging team to play against as well.

They are, the main difference between them is that Stoke spent millions and millions on players to play this way, Burnley do it because they can’t afford to do it any other way.

Don’t like either of them, but I kind of get why Burnley do it.

Feels like a massive win that after WH last week. And another fucking clean sheet!

Pretty awful performance tbh. But the result all that matters tonight.............COYS!!!!
Hmmm.... I'm on the fence on whether or not that was an 'awful' performance, as I didn't think it was a question of players playing awfully. Yes, a few had poor games, but by-and-large, Burnley also defended very well. As they do against every team. They played a very low block, relied on the long-ball and for us to give away corners and free kicks. They were always gonna be tough to pry open. And they certainly weren't going to play to our strengths, by playing quickly on the break. They didn't have a high line. Yes, we did need a bit more quality in certain areas, but that's where you have to make some tradeoffs. Jose clearly felt we would be better defensively with Davies and Doherty, and I think he was right. Also knew we'd be tougher to break down through the middle with PEH and Sissoko. Again, he was right.

I think he was hoping Ndombele would be able to find more space, but they did a good job on him.

The biggest issues we had going forward was largely down to our inability to get TD on the ball in dangerous areas, and when we did there was some very static movement in front of him. In particular, I thought Moura was awful today. Not at the races whatsoever.

Then Davies and Doherty were also pretty poor going forward. The former in particular really struggled for the first 70 mins.

So, while it is easy to look at it as a shitty performance, I don't quite see it that way. Let's face it... over the last 18 months we have seen awful performances from this team... that was not one of them.
