Wasn't pretty but feels cathartic after our issues at home. Bit of a stalemate which we snatched the 3 points from, similar to what Everton did vs us. Then of course seeing the game out very well finally.

Obviously Kane and Son made the key contributions but there was good work from Hugo and the defence today, plus good game management from Gio and Lamela at the death.

Big 3 points and back in the mix. 2 off top. COYS.

We sure won ugly tonight, a speciality of Mourinho's style. We were very lucky not to concede, great defending by Kane,, he has become a defender a provider and still a striker. A great all-round player. Our defence looked much stronger tonight except for Dier's error that nearly led to losing possession in a difficult position. Dier should have cleared the ball, however, we got an handball and got away with it . Great go up to fift position and the scum shit go down to eleventh.

We didn’t play very well and won
Yes because we are a good team. I asked how we got “lucky”?

did we get a ridiculous handball penalty? No.

Did we hit a complete fluke strike after a non existent foul? No.

there was nothing “lucky” about this win. It was just a very good hard fought 3 pints.

enjoy it ffs

They are very good at what they do, but it’s fucking horrible to watch. They’re also a dirty team. I don’t dislike Dyche and he’s done a good job there, I hope they go down this year.
I also don’t believe it’s a coincidence that the whole squad has no black players in it. Call it unconscious bias, or whatever, but your face has got to fit there.

Gary Neville talking about a game of two moments, one Kane off the line and one Son scored. I don't agree, we'd had a couple of moments already in the five or ten minutes before we scored, Kane lost his feet, Lamela rolled a lovely ball in to him clear beyond his marker but the defender stuck out a foot and got a tie to it and then there was Sonny's shot that got blocked on the six yard line.
I posted when we scored it was coming and I hold to that. It also convinces me we'd have kept up the pressure and got the goal we needed and not eased off to manage the game as we did.

just his post-match interview on Sky, his reasoning behind the changes, talking through Burnley's tactics, a nod to Pochettino when talking about Kane and Son, and cleverly calling out the referee for not sending off Barnes

Very clever. If we’d lost, that would’ve been the first thing Jose spoke about and it would not have been complimentary....

Great win after playing slowly and turgidly. Good sign.

I honestly don't want pundits to talk us up as title challengers, and frankly we have a lot of growing to do if we were to challenge. Let's keep it to one game at a time.

Yep, I always say it, and it is boring, but one game at a time.

Consistency is key in the PL. Since lockdown we’ve lost only to Sheffield United and Everton. Some frustrating draws of course but we’ve had a good set of results.

we were fine. Burnley were very disciplined and playing for the draw.

we have better players than them and should have created much more chances no matter how they set up.
Look I’m very happy we got the result but it could have easily gone the other way

They are, the main difference between them is that Stoke spent millions and millions on players to play this way, Burnley do it because they can’t afford to do it any other way.

Don’t like either of them, but I kind of get why Burnley do it.
I mean, they started spending lots of money because they'd been in the PL for a while and wanted to change things and that led to disaster.

But before stoke you had Bolton. Who, for time wasting, gave stoke a run for their money. But bolton were by far the team with the best players to play the worst brand of football. You had former real madrid players, like Fernando Hierro and Ivan Campo, as well as the extremely gifted Jay-Jay Okocha knock it long to Kevin Davies and hope for something. Mind, they were very good at it, probably the most effective team to play that way since I've been following football.

If you win a game that you don’t really deserve to I class that as lucky, it could easily have gone the other way. I’m happy we won and think we were owed that luck from previous games as I’ve send In a previous post

Again... how did we get lucky? It was a good goal. If it were Liverpool or City, you'd all be lauding them about that's what big teams do.
No, I've never really believed this mentality monster stuff. 9/10 out of time you create better chances you win the game.
