I haven't read all of the thread so this might have been said already, but Chadli reminds me a lot of Tony Galvin. (For those of you who don't know, Galvin was our left midfielder in the early eighties).

Both right-footed players playing on the left, both solid defensively and a threat going forward, neither having blistering pace (although Galvin was quicker)..... If he contributes as much as Galvin did, then I think we'll all be quite happy with Mr. Chadli. Scoring twice in his first five(ish) games isn't a bad start.
And for those who don't remember Tony Galvin was often on the end of Glenn Hoddle's sweeping right to left passes ....a hard worker who gave balance to a side many thought were 'fancy dans'....Chadli anyone?

Came in, looked OK, got injured, came back, looked better, scored twice.

Meh way too early to bitch about Chadli, Lamela or Soldado, yep they haven't set the world alight but they will improve

You sure? Tony Galvin was in a different league to Chadli! Don't know what it is but I can't take to the bloke, just not a Tottenham type.

I like him. I feel like people are getting on his back as they can't comprehend a winger who keeps possession well, makes intelligent passes and looks for options to play quick one twos with team mates. Spurs fans are much more used to the head down, run into a blind alley and hit the first man trying to cross kind of winger.

Pleased to see him scoring tonight, hopefully the first of a bagful this season.

For me, if he's coached right, we'll have a player. As correctly stated earlier, Chadli isn't quick and his feet aren't great - but what he offers is power. Play him in the right tole, in the right games, and he'll score goals. He needs to be more direct than we have seen, but the same goes for Lamela.

Think people have got unrealistic expectations of him.
For every Bale-type winger there are a few Milners.

He's got more to his game than that as well, free kicks and suchlike.

Plus he's the biggest guy in the world which is unusual for a wide player.

It's nuts really, everyone has been going loopy about Eriksen, who despite obvious talent has had a mixed start, yet people are happy to berate the non-name signing of Chadli, probably because he came as exactly that, a guy with little reputation.
Similarly, people are happy to doubt Chiriches, cos nobody knows much about him, yet give Lamela all the breaks in the world cos he came with a big fee and reputation.

I think they will all show to be class but it's interesting how people almost intrinsically form a hive view of players without actually looking beyond prior reputation.

he's got a bit of a striker's mentality about him, which is good. Lovely finish last night against Anzi. Not knocking Lennon or Townshend but they would've gone near post top corner probably.

I think he runs funny, but he's a big unit, very strong and covers ground quicker than you expect...

Haven't read the whole thread but are people really moaning???

P-11, W-9, D-1, L-1 in all comps...some people eh? Moon on a stick!!!

Chadli is just getting in the groove (as are a few of the other newbies) and we're getting the results...chillax your bad selves:whistle:

Lennon wouldn't have reached the goal.

I think Chadli is a great squad player to have. It's clear he's got goals in him and you can never have enough players who get goals.

I think he and Siggy are both very useful in that regard and it wouldn't surprise me if both got 10-15 goals this season.

Yeah but what use would 20-30 goals be to us if some just don't fancy the look of them. You need to have a think about your priorities, TSH.

Not to worry, Lennon will be back soon...that'll cut the fuckoid running motion ratio back down to an acceptable level (y)
