Yeah sure, but looking at their team it's really not all that. How many would get into our side? The centre backs, right back, that's about it.

On current form no but if those players are playing up to their potential they should be doing a lot more...and this is actually my point, Zidane isn't maximising their potential for whatever reason and a lot of them are playing under par.

The striker of Midtjylland on the bench, Pfeiffer, played for the club i am working at and helped us getting relegated from the 4th to the 5th german division just 3 years ago ?

Hope he bangs one against Pool

He had a real chance with a header there..got it totally wrong though.

.

Looking at who he did play I don't get why he didn't play Hazard,
I know he's had an injury but Hazard has been a really poor signing. He's 30 in January and only made 22 appearances last season scoring just once.

Madrid and Barca have really blown their recruitment these past couple of years and I think gone are the days where they could just pick up the 4 or 5 best performers from around Europe. There's too many clubs with more power nowadays, too much talent around, clubs are now able to ask for 100m plus for their star players (pre-COVID) also other clubs have got much better recruitment strategies and at developing talent. It seems to have put them in a desperate situation of having to get the likes of Hazard or Griezmann before the other club get there.

They both well and truly took their eyes off the ball.

A few musings: Madrid out of jail, sadly. The Atalanta v Ajax game looked a cracker - end to end stuff. Joao Felix is some player, he saved Atletico on his own almost. Another jammy pen for Salah. Shame as Midtjylland could've had a draw.

For a team that shouldn't really be in the CL I reckon City might go all the way this year, the bar seems to be set low.

Well I am black as well, it ought to bother me but it doesn't, I see it as a campaign like let's kick racism out of football, I mean what do these campaigns/gestures really do when the repercussions are never that serious anyway.
Not to get too off-topic (and I admit I made a comment about it elsewhere): the movements are important (whether they're effective, well-judged is neither here nor there). But any corporate involvement is nothing but a mixture of virtue signalling and patronising pandering.

Sounds like something Martin Tyler might bring up in one of his fantastic match commentaries lol.
"And Kane passes it to Son and the South Korean passes it to Ndombele. Ndombele whose parents are from the Democratic Republic of Congo which is a nation that has 25 letters in its name. Gary, didn't you once use 25 letters in an email you sent? I remember that day, it was a Thursday. Spurs of course haven't won on a Thursday when there's been a full moon shining during the third week of February since 1947."
