Come on man you are a good poster but you are seriously fan boy level sometimes. Do you expect us to win the league with Sissoko starting all season? If you do then you are in for a serious disappointment

He was excellent today filled the space that Wermer was looking to get into to the point that there best attacker was taken off. Last week he had another good game in these type of games and the way the team is set up to play he is an integral part of the side ,

I think we would look a lot better going forward with someone else in for Sissoko, but the Sissoko Hojbjerg pairing has helped us tighten up defensively.

We won't be changing it any time soon imo, not when there are still fitness issues over Ndombele and lo celso.

That spot is made for Skipp though. Will be interesting to see him once he is back from his loan

Yeah, his role is essentially legs without the ball. Need a few disciplined workhorses in the side if we're to play like this against the top teams and he fits the ball.

Having said that, he should be nowhere near the team against the lesser teams who are likely to sit back themselves. Far too negative and offers absolutely nothing on the ball. Has to be both Lo Celso and Ndombele with Hojbjerg for those games, that's easily combative enough to cope with the odd counter but leagues ahead in terms of ball retention and progression.

For what it's worth I think the players wanted to win but were determined not to lose knowing that would take us back to the top and were maybe a bit more cautious than they would ordinarily. José said they were angry in the dressing room after the game so we may well be able to take a lesson from this and add it to our box of experience.

Sissoko offers a lot especially in big games. It’s not a coincidence he has 65 caps for the world champions.

He's horrendous when you're trying to break teams down and need some guile and intricacy but today's game (and man city) are tailor made for his stamina, pace, strength and positional discipline.

It took me a while to understand how he made it as a professional, let alone an international but he's shown many times with us that he can be a weapon in the right circumstances.

You're equating Sissoko starting vs City at home and Chelsea away as him starting all season
My point is I don’t want to see that happen as I don’t think we have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the league if he does

Very satisfied with a point at Chelsea. The side have a lot more discipline and organisation these days especially in defence. As much as I love Poch I don't think we would have put in a solid performance like that to gain a point in his day.

I get Sissoko Isn’t the best footballer in the world but two of our coaches have seen something in him to start him and we’ve got to the CL final and now top if the league with him featuring regularly. He may not be great with the ball but his off the ball work is decent and maybe he’s really good at playing to a plan?

Yes not the best footballer - especially when it come to shooting. However I can distinctly remember 3 or 4 occasions when he tracked (thundered) back into defence and made key interceptions. I think he is winning a lot of defensive brownie points!

A lot of fans don't see that or appreciate that part of his game.

would have taken that point before the game all day long but I will be seeing that La Celso opportunity in stoppage time in my sleep for days to come. That said, Giroud could also have won it for them too

This is crazy and borderline incredible. Lucky clean sheets are one thing, but we have held Man City and Chelsea (two offensive juggernauts) to just a couple of injury time half-chances in 180+ minutes of football.
And with Toby missing today. With a boy making is full debut in central defense of all places. That’s title-winning form, you know.
Pity about the glorious Gio chance at the death.
PS: What a fantastic referee we had today.
