By the way, what a player Kante is. Easily my favourite non-Spurs player and that’s not easy to say as I detest this incarnation of chelsea.

Mate I didn't enter until a fair way into the game and abandoned it after 5 minutes. The sheer number of people that don't understand what the point of pre season friendlies are is staggering.
The concern yet again from the majority is that it would appear barring an influx of new players that certain players who have been bang average for ages, appear to still be here and about to play a key role in the first game of the season.

For example Dele Alli. I have had a summer off from bashing him as I'm banned from the transfer thread and therefore can't remind the idiots who continue to back him that he is a fraud.

Oh look he has had some pictures taken abroad working hard..like no other premiership footballer is doing the exact same thing...well apart from the one who is currently in the standby line at Disneyworld for Splash Mountain.

Oh he looks half decent against low league clubs...shock.

I'm genuinely bored of seeing him in the team now. I knew Spurs wouldn't get rid of him as like Dier the teams that would want to purchase them are not up to the level in which their ego believes... very similar to what happened with Danny Rose.

Yes it is pre season and yes he runs around a bit but yet again he turns the ball over far too much and keeps trying the nutmegs that doesn't work the majority of time. The pre season friendly exposed him yet again and then I even read he got an assist for Moura's goal..he fucked it up and rebounded of his shin.

The one thing I said Jose had got right, is that he had identified the shit and that by getting rid of him at the precise time would allow Levy to keep around the players he likes. Winks, Dier and Dele.

Those three players alone are one of the major problems for us to move forward as a club.

Nail on the head especially regarding Dele, a few workout vids and interviews and he has everyone believing the penny has dropped. He might be trying his best to look like Gullit but he is not a patch on him. I'd be more impressed seeing videos of him working on his passing and shielding of the ball, or working on his left foot or long range shooting. Just a massive shame that it seems like he's going to be starting for us again despite doing nothing to deserve it.

Welcome to Tottenham.. the club that allows you to live off your past exploits but the present and future is irrelevant.

Also I don't quite understand how highly regarded Lo Celso and Ndombele are on this board as well. Those two alone need to seriously step up and start pulling their weight as well this season, so it's not just Dele I have an issue with...I'm quite consistent across the board.

Think Nuno is going to be the next in the list of managers who’ve thought “surely Dele will rediscover his old form if I give him the chance”, only to discover that he is absolutely shot.

He should have been sold at the end of the season Poch was sacked. It's a joke that he's still art the club.

Ego is the problem. All our British players have a very high opinion of themselves for some unfounded reason.

It comes from Levy letting them get away with it. Mourinho would def have got rid if he was allowed. Feel sorry for Nuno because he's inherited a poisoned chalice. Rough season ahead.

If Nuno starts the season playing Alli in the hole I will be rapdily losing faith in him.

Alli shouldn't be near the first 11, it's been plain to see for over two seasons now.

Yep England long ago saw thru his hype but we at Spurs must continue believing the unbelievable .

As JM said in the Doc ' You're a moments player'

.... True , but now we have to suffer Dele without even any 'moments' . Surely Nuno can see this .

Who do you want him to start?! It's not Nuno's fault that the squad's in such a poor state.

I remember when we had the best preseason ever culminating in a demolition of Roma. 8 games into the new season our manager was sacked after picking up 2 points.
I wouldn't read too much into preseason. Let's wait for the season to begin before slitting our wrists.

I have a feeling Fabio will quickly see the reality with Dele and we will see him gone next summer. Two year too late and probably at half the money we could've got for him.

I'd play GLC or Ndombele there.

Correct though the squad is in a state.
Considering neither was even on the bench they pretty plainly weren't available. Hopefully they are for City, but I wouldn't count on it.

If anyone doesn't think Mason was told to play Dele by Levy for that very reason as his value was depreciating by the day then their deluded.

The issue I have with Players like Dele, Winks, Dier and Lamela before he left. They came into the team as young players and can anyone say that any of those four players are better players now then when they first played for us?

On the other hand you have Kane, Son, Eriksen, Bale, Modric even players like Lennon that improved as players over time.

Those four players represent the reason why there has been no improvement at our club for the last few seasons. Everything has become stale and Levy has allowed it to get to that state.

It's not just us that this happens with though. It's part of the game. Some players develop and grow and others don't. Look at some of the Utd squad over the last 10-15 years, a load of players that looked like they were going to push on never did.

What we need to do is recognise this and replace these players, moving them on to mid table teams where they will do a job

If you are referring to Phil Jones as one of those Utd players then that is out of order.

He was quite clearly told he was going to be the next Duncan Edwards. So ever since then he has disappeared pretending to be dead.

Who was it in here who said he'd gotten a ticket to the game through a Chelsea supporting mate?
