Yes he would. How many top teams play with a target man though? Our primary attacking outlet is still going to be Bale and we'll likely build our attacking strategy around getting him on the ball in dangerous positions. Don't know how Benteke would fit in that?

#Benteke put in a transfer request and didnt travel to Germany for preseason. Same game as he played in Genk to force his way out.

Funnily enough Benteke was the player I really wanted us to sign this summer but have gone off the Idea abit now considering the fee Villa want for him. Grossly over priced for a player who has had one good season. Would pay around £15 millon tops for him. Really cant blame Villa though for over pricing him as they don't want to sell him so can put what ever price tag on him they want.

one thing on Chelsea's interest. hasnt Hulk come out saying he has offers from them? I know we have also been linked to Hulk but we all know we arnt going to afford that fee (unless it dropped significantly)

So say if chelsea got Hulk and had Lukaku Torres and Ba

TBH, Benteke would add a ton of creavity to our front. We would work out really well with him I think.

I disagree he is not talking to the media that he wants to go to chelsea because they are a big club and he has put in an official transfer request.

From Cavani to Benteke. Really? I'd have thought they would be looking at someone a bit better.

It's a case now of who else is left. Falcao to Monaco, Lewandowski seems to be staying at Dortmund, Cavani to PSG, Gomez to Fiorentina. So I can see why Chelsea are interested and they have the money to get him. If it is the right move for Benteke is another thing as he wouldn't be playing every week but I just don't think we can afford that price tag unless some players are thrown in that Villa want.

This is this the thing very few of the top teams who play good football play the big lump upfront anymore. Im sure he will score goals but he does not fit the dynamic of the team we are trying to create. Arguments for his all round play maybe ok if we want to play with a target man but if we want a more dynamic attack then he does not fit that role at all. Pointless mentioning Villa as that boat has sailed but I think that is exactly what we were trying to create if he had signed. Benteke, well its more of the same. People were moaning that we weren't great to watch last season, Benteke won't cure that. Totally someone I don't want us to sign for that reason. Just not the style I want us to be playing.
