Id take him back in a heartbeat (absolutely no pun intended here)... im not a medic so i dont know what medics think but im sure he has had advice and multiple advice and in light of him wanting to return - I suspect the advice has been that it is safe to do so.

We have a huge eriksen shaped hole in our team and have done ever since he left, if medics clear him as ok to play and he’s still fit enough and wants to come back then who better to fill the Eriksen shaped creative hole than…. ERIKSEN himself ! Genius really.

One of my fave ever spurs players and he knows how to play in Contes system and he’s a free agent! ??

There is genuinely zero downside from a Spurs perspective.

Seriously underrated player for us by many.

3 huge losses the last 5 or so seasons that we’ve never properly replaced.
1. Walker
2. Dembele
3. Eriksen

We got progressively worse as each of these 3 left.

Let’s start the re-build with Eriksen back, then Traore to fill the athletic RWB spot and then Kessie to fill the Dembele CM beast hole.

i geniuly dont get the obsession with bringing him back would any of you take him if he never played for spurs and lets say played for everton and was the exact same player in another team in his current state.the funniest part will be if he comes back when people act suprised that he isnt the same player anymore and isnt taking us anywhere but we will see i guess

Conte was his last manager at club level. If he wants him it will be for a reason. A short term midfield option for free will give us more money to spend on other parts of the team.

We’d have him back because we have no one better, and even on the decline he’d still be better than most in the squad.

i am not convinced he does didnt he say in his press conference along the lines of he always allowed to come back to TRAIN or did i misunderstand ? anyway i doubt if he had a serious budget that eriksen would be anywhere near the top of his list the only reason we will probably take him back is because he doesnt cost anything

That's what people would have said about Bale, but then up until Mason took over there was a lot of melancholy and sadness that his legacy had been tarnished.

He's lucky that so many have forgotten the downturn and generally apathy of the final 12 months, and it's not especially like he lit it up at Inter, either, tbh. There's the genuine and realistic chance that he comes back and everyone immediately wishes they still had the version they fondly remember in their minds.

As a coach, yes. As a player, it's a novelty that will probably backfire.

Yes please, so I never have to see a Skipp and Hojbjerg midfield pairing again ?

Sentimentality wont make us title challengers. Was my fav Spurs player at the time during his prime but yeah.

And there was no downside to Bale. Mourinho was just a fucking moron and didn’t play him.

if you believe thats gonna take us forward thats up to you. i would much prefer to get fresh young blood in than to get players that used to be good i am not bothered at all that we didnt go for trippier and coutinho for the same reasons. there are so many good talents i would go for lamptey baku schlotterbech ahmedhodzic guimares antony luis diaz osimhen etc.. of course they cost money but those are the players teams above us will look at not eriksen or trippier
