Can't see a thread for this kid, but now we have some official ITK I think we need one.

I really like this young fella. Very talented. Needs to play in the VDV hub really, but could also play left or right in a 433 or 4231 I reckon, whilst learning from a master like VDV.

VDV's presence here might put him off. But I'm not sure there are too many top top clubs who could accommodate him easily every week in that respect so maybe a club like ours, where he would get plenty of game time in a 4231/433 right and left and also plenty of filling in for VDV when he's injured etc, might appeal.

Hope so. Have a feeling he'll be scooped up by a bigger fish though.

I remember JJ saying last year he was one we were looking at but no approach or anything like before some one gets the wrong end of the stick

Very good player, but about the least of our priority positions to address (after maybe RB).

If he can play across the attacking midfield positions (i.e. wingers + AM) I'd say it's fairly high up the list, as we've only really got three players Harry trusts for those three positions, and could certainly do with a 4th. Dunno how Eriksen is like playing on the wings, though, I've seen him a couple of times and only in the middle.

I don't think he can play on/from the wings, like VDV he'd be wasted there.

Interesting how this one was poo-pooed earlier this month. I can see him being a fantastic Modric replacement/VdV backup, and I really think we ought to capitalise on our interest pronto.

Doesnt he play in a 2 man midefield for the national team? I see him more as a Modric type than a VDV but I have been wrong before (not often though :p)

More similar to Modric than Van Der Vaart and in time will be a better player than Modric , in my opinion of course

Scoring goals from midfield was a big problem for us last year. Eriksen would be an ideal replacement for Modric if we lose him. More attacking and scores more goals. Just what we need now we have the likes of Parker, Sandro, Livermore and Thudd in the squad.

Didn't he say though he would only move to La Liga or is that complete horse shit?!

Good player though and maybe luring Vertonghen will only aid our cause.

Eriksen: "Where I would like to play? For a top club in England, Spain or Italy. But I’m not thinking about all these rumors."

Eriksen: "I still haven’t had any concrete offers, so that’s why I don’t pay as much attention to the rumors as I would if they were true."

No it's true, he has repeatedly turned Milan and Juventus down and downplayed the interest from Chelsea and ManU. He thinks he's more suited to La Liga.

No and he knows that which is why he wants to stay at Ajax to further his development.
Would be the sensible thing to do. Stay for a few more yrs and then move properly, to a club where he can continue to grow and develope. No point jumping to "an big club" just because. Ajax the club and Amsterdam the city are hardly bad places to be after all.

big step from Ajax to Barca assuming it ever happens

he needs a stepping stone and we could probably accommodate him there

He turned Barcelona down for Ajax, but they are still keeping tabs on him. Once Xavi retires I'm sure they have him in mind as a possible replacement.
