I didn't think he was gonna come, but I did think it meant we had a chance. For that alone, as a Spurs fan, I don't like the guy.
But for spouting off about wanting assured playing time, and wanting to play for a club that played good football, and specifically referencing his friend Lukaku at Chelsea as what he didn't want to happen, and then joining them Chav s really makes me hope that his career stass just like his friend Lukaku (and that is the less bitter and twisted version )

Got to admit, pretty much my experience. However, I've only seen him half a dozen times over the last couple of years and he widely accepted as one of the birghtest young stars.

I really rate Eriksen, but the two of them aren't really very similar players. Eriksen is more like a Van der Vaart type player. We already have good cover there in Sigurdsson. While Eriksen probably could play a Modric role I'm not sure he's the best alternative.

Sigurdsson isn't cover for VDV. They are quite different players.

Yes they are different players, but they do play in the same positions on the pitch. Of course the two may get time together on the pitch, but each of them can cover for the other. That they have different skill sets is quite clear, but they are both pretty attack minded players.

In that case I see what you mean. Sigurdsson is an alternative option rather than a like for like replacement was what I meant. If we substitute VDV for Sigurdsson the creative spark would need to come from elsewhere but Siggy would be one who profits getting on the end of it.
