I'm sure everybody knows by now. Robinho is a Man City player. Look at their team now it looks really good, if anybody is going to break into the top four it's them, they've made some very good signings.

----------------Hart-----------------

Zabaleta---Dunne--Richards---Garrido

------Kompany-----Johnson--------

Wright-Phillips---Elano--------Robinho-

----------------Jo------------------

That team is NOT top four quality! Robinho is a player that they REALLY didn't need. He has played left wing for 2/3 years, they had a good left wing. They needed a striker.

That team actually looks like it will have similar problems to our team. I also don't think Wright-Phillips is good, he just had a good comeback, I could be wrong though. The problem is when January opens up they'll probably buy a top top striker and some more good players. We should just start calling them Chelsea 2.0.

Robinho really wanted that move to Chelski didnt he??lol. I mean the fact that he wanted to leave Real Madrid for Chelski made it obvious he was in it for the money, but the fact he has now gone to Citeh is a joke. Would he even of heard of Mark Hughes?? I could be proved very wrong but i think his game is suited far better to La Liga

he didn't leave himself any options. by campaigning openly, and once chelsea couldn't seal the deal, he knew he'd be frozen out at madrid

I thought about this myself last night. Whenever you see an interview with any of them, they refer to United as just "Manchester". He couldn't have made that mistake could he? Would be hilarious!

New signing Robinho will wear the number 10 shirt, MCFC can confirm.
The Brazilian star became a Blue just minutes ahead of last night’s transfer deadline.
So in keeping with the news, here are mcfc.co.uk's Top 10 Robinho facts!!
1. Joined the Beira-Mar football academy when just six years old, playing alongside future Real team mate Marcelo.
2. When nine he joined Portuários, scoring 73 goals before moving to the famous Santos club, where their youth set-up was overseen by none other than Pele.
3. Signed pro forms with Santos at 18, and immediately made an impact, scoring nine goals when they won the Brazilian championship in 2002.
4. Made his debut for Brazil in a defeat to Mexico in 2003.
5. Robinho’s mother was kidnapped in 2004 and held hostage for six weeks, being released unharmed after payment of a ransom.
6. Having been tracked by several European clubs, Robinho was transferred to Real Madrid in July 2005.
7. Made four substitute appearances for Brazil at the 2006 World Cup Finals.
8. Played a key part in Real’s two consecutive La Liga title wins, despite falling out with then-manager Fabio Capello for a time in 2006/07.
9. Took the Golden Boot trophy as Brazil won the 2007 Copa America tournament.
10. Signed for City just before midnight on September 1st 2008, taking the number 10 shirt.

The message this transfer really sends out is that nobody goes to Chelsea because they actually want to or give a shit about the club at all :)

Says the same about City but that's fine because we already know that's true. Making Chelsea look stupid is brilliant!

The thing is that he actually did want to move to Chelsea. The problem was that they were not prepared to pay the money(rightfully so - later) and did not attempt to finish the deal. Meanwhile Robinho had totally backed himself into a corner in the same way Berbatov did. BUT, when it became apparent that Chelsea was not going to happen he had no option to take what was on offer (as would Berbatov if Utd had pulled out) as his situation at Madrid had become completely untenable by his own doing.

To the poster who thinks that City will break the top 4, I really doubt this (although it depends on who they get in January). Yes, they have a good squad but not a top 4 squad. Personally, I think we have a better team at the moment.

As for the signing itself, I can only imagine that it is either a panic buy or an attempt to get some publicity and money from other parts of the world. From a footballing point of view it is a terrible purchase and they have payed far too much money. There are a few players worth that kind of money and he is not one. Statistically he is not a very prolific goalscorer (Bent has a higher goal/game ratio) and he seeks the limelight in a big way. He is also not a particularly good teamplayer. He has never performed well in "big" games and, IMO, will struggle with the style of play in the premiership.

As for City breaking the top 4? Not this year. However, they have apparently stated that they have £500million to spend on players and only time will tell if they can continue to attract "star" players. They did submit bids last night for Villa and Gomes who are both very good players. If they can get the great players and their new owners stick with it for a while then maybe they will get there next year.

I think that is a very astute observation and yet no one on the tele or in the press is talking about how chelsea are feeling about having a done deal nicked from under their noses, this is an important moment in the psyche of chelsea football club, before this they always got the player and because of this players will look at them differently.

To be fair at least City have genuine fans, certainly no glory fans yet.

Yeah, there was some god-awful hag interviewed at the ground on Monday morning saying she'd gone to buy a season ticket for her son who wasn't going to bother until someone turned up with [dr evil]one trillion dollars[/dr evil] to spunk on players.

They - look us - will struggle to bring in any real quality in January, and the new bosses would be well advised to downgrade their targets from the pointlessly unobtainable (eg. Good Ronaldo, Torres, Fabregas and the like) to the 'second tier' of players who might be tempted by City and/or are at clubs who might want the moolah (eg. Arshavin, Arteta and, unfortunately, several of our players).

Robinho was an opportunistic signing. There won't always be talented but mentally unstable cry-babies who have burned all their bridges for them to sign.

Actually, there probably will. Shit.

He will get bums on seats, but has anyone actually seen him play a bit? He blows hot and cold. Very quick feet but gets lost in games too often for my liking.
