He’d be excellent for us - can’t believe Chelsea are in a position where they have to sell him, he’s been their best player by a mile this season and basically their captain with Reece James always injured

I do feel he would be great for us under Ange, he was one that Ange asked for when he joined us so he clearly holds him in high regard.

Does anyone think that if we only sign him and sell hojbjerg in January that we would be too light in the more defensive options in midfield?

Absolutely.

We sold Davinson in the summer. We are horribly light at centre back. If we only buy 1 quality centre back in January I'd be mildly satisfied. I think we need more but whoever we buy, if it doesn't include a centre back it'll be a terrible window.

By all accounts he's chavtastic through and through so unless pushed out the door, unlikely? Also 50m for a guy with 18 months on contract sounds expensive

They are pushing him out because they haven't offered him a suitable extension. We've no intention of paying £50m as has been stated by ITK.

18 matches this season, five yellows and a red, he’ll fit right in.
I think he’d be a great signing at £40m but it’s been said on here so many times by people who know far more than me that he won’t come to us and there’s no way they can force him out.
I just don’t see it happening.

Based on this link, I'd be leaning towards Ange seeing Bentancur as more 6 than 8.

6 options: Bentancur and Bissouma
8 options: Sarr and Gallagher
10 options: Maddison and Kulu

With Hojbjerg likely leaving in January, and Skipp (6 or 8) and Lo Celso (8 or 10) being squad options whose future is likely to come into more question in the summer.

Chelsea need to sell him to create room under FFP to bring in reinforcements and Poch clearly wants some. Can see a deal working here and it’s clear Ange loves him.

Homegrown and a big step up on Hojbjerg for our system. Sounds lovely to me!

forgive my crude mobile translation.

Market movements in London: Tottenham seek reinforcements in midfield and want to bring Conor Gallagher to the other side of London.

Tottenham-Chelsea, agreement is sought for Gallagher

The Chelsea midfielder very much likes the Spurs management who is trying to seek agreement with the Blues. The figure of the operation is around 40 million.

Raised in the Chelsea nursery, after several loans between Swansea, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace, he returned on a stable basis in the first team last season. Despite the various changes on the bench, he has always been a staple of the team with 40 appearances in all competitions.

Same scenario in the same part of the 23/24 season, where he took the field 22 times between the Premier League and the Carabao Cup, also reporting four assists.

I think we are much better team the other night with Gallagher in it.

People like imagining these perfect scenarios of Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison and Bentancur all being available and ask themselves where does Gallagher fit in?

But the point is we need depth. The above is a dream scenario. The chances are there will be very few times across a season where all the above are fully fit, free from suspension, and aren’t due to be rotated to keep them fresh.

I'll be very happy if this happens, I think he would be superb for us. As a bonus it will piss off Chelsea fans so that seals it. He is only 23 as well.

Well we've had a long standing interest and Agne appears to be a big fan.

When you consider Bissouma and Sarr are off for theAFCN soon, we might as well bring him in now as oppossed to the end of the window.
