Depends what the add ons are. If they're trophy linked, then I'm absolutely fine with that as we don't have much to show in the last 15 years.

I think he would a great signing, young home grown, runs all day, works his boll**ks off and can also play as well. Don't get the dislike of him. Perfect player for Ange and would be an amazing signing. I think he's pretty similar to a milner/ Henderson when they were 23/24 and every successful team needs those characters who don't stop.

I like the guy and feel he would be a good fit. But are there similar players with his ability (or better) that are half of what he would cost that are obtainable in January?

If Ange wants a new midfielder then I guess we will know more soon.

Boro really won’t want to lose Hackney before the summer, and Genoa aren’t safe enough from relegation to sell us another good player. Leaves Gallagher and a 28 year old Cristante.

Or we can wait till the summer. With players coming back after the AFCON, Maddison back from injury and Werner’s arrival meaning Deki can play in MF, we’ll be well enough stocked IMO

I can’t help thinking being home grown is a big part of this.

Wait till the summer and buy a prospect in the same position, rather than full price for him. His price would be lower in the summer too if we still think he’s the right guy

We can argue about valuation all day, but since Ange has come in I've seen it mentioned in various posts and articles that it seems he absolutely wants CG. If Ange is desperate for him to come in and we want to back him, shouldn't the fee be irrelevant?

I know it's unlikely we spend that much on him but if we do, isn't that another good sign that Ange and the club are on the same page?

Especially when you consider Chelsea are playing a double pivot, in Ange's team he'd be more like the player he was at palace in a CM3 being able to drive forward and make runs into the box.

I never used to rate him, but unfortunately having to watch Chelsea due to the brother in law, he's been the standout player for them most of the season in the fact he's a proper Box to box midfielder.

Honestly if we had him and sarr to rotate in that spot we are set for years.

He's a good player and when we were linked with him in the summer I would have been really excited about signing him, but not anymore. He's a Chelsea fan, doubt he'd put in the same level of effort for any team he's sold to, different case when he was on loan. There are far better, younger players in Europe for less money, plus I'd rather see Chelsea suffer the indignity of being charged with breaking the rules.

To me, this felt like happening during the summer. Well it didn't, but damn, it still does feel like it's going to happen sooner or later.

Love Skippy but the reality is that he doesn't look a good fit for either the 6 or the 8 role. Hojbjerg isn't a good fit either.

We clearly miss Sarr's engine when he's out as well.

Gallagher has a great engine and is a very accomplished player. There's a reason why Ange wants him.

Signing him would really complete our CM selection IMO and in that case I'd be all for this one if possible.

That said I also get the clamour for a proper 6 as you'd think Bentancur would be fantastic in the 8 role, it's just not been possible as him and Bissouma have never both been available.
