I don’t see this as a problem, the opposite actually. Look at Liverpool; they have 6 or 7 midfielders competing for 3 spots and up to 6 forwards fighting for 3 spots. It’s called competition for places and as Liverpool have shown it means you have a bench that can make real difference in games.

I can’t see where I said it would be a problem? I basically made the same points as what you said.

My heart can’t take anymore Skipp and Hojbjerg. Just get Conor in already Daniel and move those two on

Bentancur has played 41 games in the league for us since arriving, which is three games more than one full season. He has 6 goals and 6 assists. We saw against United what he can do when arriving in the penalty area.

He is very good in the DM position, but when he is fully fit I would prefer him in the box to box role he had today.

If we sign Gallagher it would mainly be him and Sarr fighting it out for that position while Bissouma and Bentancur play deeper, where we would miss out on a lot of his potential going forward.

I would rather we try and find a player who can play two positions in midfield, in order to maximise the ways we can rotate.

For all those who think £40M is totally over the top for Gallagher;

What do you think of the close to £50M deal we did for Johnson?

Two wrongs famously don't make a right.

But I don't think it's totally over the top and am just making a point on the internet.

Gallagher is a must for me. Obviously it wouldn’t happen in one window but it would allow us to sell Pierre, Skipp and Lo Celso bringing him in. Then we’d have fantastic depth to compete on all fronts next season

DM - Bentancur, Bissouma
RCM - Sarr, Gallagher
LCM - Maddison, Kulu, Donley/Devine

Saw this screenshot online, these are the comments I fear from shed end.

I think I rate Pierre more than most on here which contributes to my uncertainty. In Ange and the scouts we trust though!

I'd sooner use Bentancur further forward and sign Kalvin Phillips to compete with Bissouma.

PInch of salt though right - You'll find similar comments on here after a bad loss about pretty much every player we've ever had :)

None of the 4 players mentioned in his post play in Gallagher's position, so this tells you everything you need to know about this guy's ball knowledge.

For me, in an ideal world we would bring in Gallagher and Phillips and have Kulu continue as a RWF:
DM - Bissouma, Phillips
RCM - Sarr, Gallagher
LCM - Maddison, Bentancur

Absolutely. Phillips would be perfect. Bentancur is so much better when allowed to push forward.

The other thing with Gallagher is that I think signing him most likely blocks any progress for Alfie Devine who I think has great potential.

Meh watch him at Palace and see how good he was in the right system playing with confidence.

He's a completely different type of player to Palmer tbh.

Imo Gallagher is an upgrade on Skipp and more mobile than PEH (who was fantastic yesterday btw and I agree with you I rate him more than most) but I still think Gallagher is an upgrade on both of them and he'd be a perfect rotation option for Sarr.

Remember what Juve fans said about Deki and Bentancur? 95% of people who watch football are morons, so wouldn’t read too much into what their fans think. Have to have a screw loose anyway to support that club

Massive fan of Phillips but I doubt he's anywhere near fit enough for our style of football right now. Barely played for the best part of two years due to injury and also because Pep was complaining about his poor conditioning.

Would rather the money was spent on a wide forward personally

We have Son, Johnson, Werner, Deki, Solomon and Gil as options there at the moment.

Whilst I think we may need to look in that area in the Summer, surely CM is more of a priority right now.

What he has going for him is agility and mobility with a decent technique.

He will never look as good in a Poch team as an Ange team, Poch's prime Spurs was a high press team that really struggled to break down low block teams and was heavily reliant on winning the ball high to create, and when that wasn't working he was often (like so many others that followed) bailed out by individual brilliance.

With players moving off and around him and Gallagher offering dynamic runs and movement with quick passing he could absolutely offer us something.

At what cost though?
I could see it limiting Sarr's involvement more than anyone (when everyone is fit) which is not something i would be particularly keen on.

But for all the talk of 6,8,10 and an ideal midfield of Sarr, Bentancur and Maddison, i would be more than happy to see a midfield that included Bentancur and Bissouma.

We maybe do need one more option so we can move on either (or both) of PEH and Skipp (I would be more inclined to keep Skipp of the two as i feel there is the chance to progress there)

The thing is though, the longer this transfer takes the less of a priority it becomes with others coming back and getting fitter all the time.
