Chelsea will panic after transfer window opens on 14th june. They won't panic today as they still have time

Summer seems to late and too much to do plus other clubs will look to pay even less unless Boehly is an idiot and can't see what is happening if he doesn't move today.

That's true, but they can still be registered for the purpose of satisfying club-trained homegrown requirements.
What would be the point? Let's say we've got 23 eligible senior players and, say, 5 U21/B-List players. If we register 2 of those U21/B-List players in the senior squad we've still got exactly the same group of players. It won't change the fact that we're only registering 23 *actual* over-21 players when we could potentially register 25.

I really wouldn't worry at the moment. He's spent most of the season out with a horrific injury. Realistically it was always going to take him probably the second half of the season to get back up to speed. The fact he has looked like his old self in flashes is more then I was expecting tbh. Perspective and patience is needed with him i feel.

Yes I agree. But I think no 8 role is best until he is up to speed.

Agreed, I think he needs to be 4th choice when all are fit for a while and just give me 20 mins a game, let him gain confidence over the rest of the season then come back strong next season after a full preseason.

Just gotta hope bissouma is up to the task

Have itk confirmed that our transfer plans for this window are complete or is there a small chance of obtaining Gallagher?

Itk has been quiet for a few days now, although WLB hinted at some news that he couldn't yet drop.
That might be for the lad that Barca are after though because it's just been reported that we've been working on it for a while but have also worked hard to keep it quiet.

If Chelsea get desperate offer them their money back and a bit more for nkunku. 99% they wouldn’t bite but you never know. That’s the only player it’s worth helping them out for.

ITK's have been pretty quiet for a few days now but I wouldn't hold out hope of any last minute drama. I think after Nusa fell apart and then PEH deciding to stay the chances of anyone joining this window are pretty much zero. At this stage maybe we get lucky with Bergvall but more likely nothing happens bar Gil maybe going.

The way FFP works club trained players all the fee counts so if they sell Gallagher for say £40m then £40m profit goes against the books.

Nkunku is a player they bought so any sale is amortised.

Simply, they need to sell home grown to generate what they need so Gallagher, Colwell, James etc.

As I say very little chance they sell him. But it would still bring some money in even if it’s not as much clear profit. Probably much bigger wages too. Don’t think Gallaghers worth helping them out for.

I think any profit generated from the sale of Nkunku would be accounted as profit for this year's books, the difference is that the original purchase price, which would have be amortised over the length of the contract, would now be deducted from the sale price, whereas a club trained player like Gallagher cost nothing so his sale would be 100% profit

Selling Nkunku though, that is Chelsea’s big hope for the future , the one player other than Palmer they bought for the billion of spending that is really good. If they sell him it’s an admission of defeat for that project.

Then to do it and you still don’t get anywhere near FFP compliance.

chelsea are in a mess.

Is he a 40m plus 120k a week which will lead to HG club trained issues better player though?

If he signs he’s a 5th option for me. I’d rather have PEH/Skipp as option 5 until the summer.

I think if we buy him now it would be more like £30m than £40m. But anyway we will have the same issues in the summer with HG trained issues. So what do we do then? Just accept we don’t have anyone capable of keeping Sarr/Bissouma/Bentancur etc out of the team so just carry on the way we have done this season?

Reading the comments on Chelsea Reddit, they really don't rate him very highly. I know that doesn't mean much like Kulusevski at Juve, but I think their fans would bite our hands off for anything like the figures reported.

I mean it’s not as mysterious as Kulusevski as we’ve had years of watching Gallagher in the prem. Hes had peaks at Palace and seemingly this year and imo he’s pretty average, but would be a decent big fish in a small pond at a Palace or Brentford etc. For me he’s at his peak now.

For me he’s an improvement on Skipp but not a 40m one. He clearly a) wants first team football if he does leave b) decent wages. Which I just can’t see him getting here. I personally think people seem to want him for the amusement of taking Chelsea’s captain (or 3rd choice) rather than the player himself. I think we could do better in the summer with that investment.
