I honestly think the fans will flick a switch once Levy is gone. It's all pent up frustration from the last 10 years. Very powerful for any new manager that's there when the change happens. Will be reminiscent when of when Newcastle ridded themselves of Ashley.
We don’t have the strength of identify that the fanbase in a one or two-club city has. Newcastle literally means everything to the people there. The local press, local business, etc. It’s never gonna be the same for our fanbase stretched out along the southeast and beyond.

Football was more fun when there used to be way less tactics, worse pitches etc.

And as bad as we were back then Tottenham as a club were more fun to support in the 90’s than now.

I love playing football. Always will probably. But I don't actually enjoy watching 90% of top level football. It can be slow and boring. There's a shocking lack of respect and sportsmanship. And its been completely distorted by corporate meddling, financial corruption and political power games that its barely competitive anymore.

There are 3 reasons to look fondly at the 90's:
  • Football was better before the stupid amounts of money got involved.
  • There was no internet so we didn't over analyse everything like we do now.
  • We were younger, it was a better time for us personally.
There is no way, we'd be happy with our performances of the 1990's now, even with 2 domestic cups.

We have never had it so good.

Selling Lamela was as damaging as the N’dombele and Lo Celso signings.

I know injuries made him unreliable in availability but he was unselfish and had the mentality that we’ve been missing since he left. He was one of the last players we had who put the team above himself and not having that has contributed to the shit we’re in now.

Not a controversial opinion, this is more of a random opinion thread, but just because a player isn't useless or has a bad attitude, it doesn't mean we should have kept him.

After a period most players need to move on if not playing regularly.

I've read posts by people suggesting we were wrong to sell the likes of Lamela and Trippier. I was a big fan of Lamela and thought Trippier was a good player for us but not the right replacement or backup for Walker. But we were absolutely right to sell them.

We currently have a squad of players that aren't up to level or have been here too long. We'd be better off if we'd sold Sanchez, Dier, Davies and a few others by now. We'd be even worse if we added Trippier and Lamela to our already underperforming, over comfortable squad.

The new stadium is the only thing that’s happened to us in our recent history.

We haven’t signed a good striker since berbatov, we resigned both Keane and Defoe but neither were as good second time around.

I could do a better job scouting players by watching clips on Youtube, MOTD and using free stat sites, than our highly paid scouting team. Having said that, I'm not sure that means much, as I suspect the same is true of Spursking.

Sorry mate but once again I have to pick up on something like this.

Our poor signings are likely less to do with our scouting being poor and more to do with us having a fucking committee and coaches who demand certain players.

For example, Conte wanted a RWB who could play his typical style. We signed a young RWB who doesn't play that style.

On the flip side, the club gave Conte Perisic who would not have even been our scouting radar.

I am myself a scout and youll be surprised at the amount of recommendations that don't get followed up cause a club has already settled in one that fits the finances or has been pushed by an agent.

That's where we have been.

So everyone thinks they can be a scout and its as simple as giving the names.

In reality, the club assigns you players to follow and you find some by chance after watching said target.

In Tottenhams case I dont know what goes on and how we identify targets but I wouldn't be surprised if we act on recommendations or players that are simply stand outs in their league.

Compared to Brighton who set parameters for each position and then get targets based off the data.

So, you may be able to spot a talent or a better CB than Sanchez but ultimately that won't be up to you.

Women's football is still poor although I appreciate they've come a long way. It's still nothing close to the Men's game and never will be.

  • We’re spending enough money to compete for top four, that isn’t the problem.
  • Hojbjerg is our best midfielder, probably even once Bentancur is back from injury.
  • Romero really isn’t that good. Too rash and unpredictable to be a top defender in most systems.
  • Our fans are toxic and it plays a noticeable part in our struggles.
Hojbjerg couldn’t lace Bentancur’s boots

Pochetino and Kane either don't have a winner's mentality or they never actually took this club as seriously as they should, and they are part of the reason we're currently in the mess we're in.

Kane, for one, was a liar and kept claiming he was in great physical shape to play the CL final. He acted as if he had a God given's right or something to start in that final, and Pochetino seemed to agree with that, which turned out to be severely detrimental for us. I for one lost a lor of respect for Harry after that. I think all of us also remember those silly comments Pochetino kept making on the days prior to the final, he seemed to be in total shock that he had made the final, and that made us seem weaker.

Had we won that final, everything would be different now, not only for the club, but also for the careers of both Kane and Pochetino. Oh well...
