Bizarre comparison as neither play for the club, yet you're asking as if we can simply choose one or the other.

Ward-prowse I like, particularly because of his set pieces, but how much do you think he'd cost?

Probably more than he's worth.

Eriksen may be free, so taking that into consideration probably Eriksen.

I don’t think we are nailed on to get either, more of a fantasy choice if Conte was looking for a playmaker. A player different than what we have currently.

We can sign De Bruyne it won't make a difference unless people around and ahead of him are moving.

The attackers and wingbacks can't complain about not getting the ball when they spend so much time ball watching.

JWP.

Been wanting him every since Poch joined us.

i want his long throws, i think we tend to be pretty average from throw-ins, I feel 80 to 90% of our throws are actually backward. this would give throw-ins a greater meaning to our game.

Shame about the either/or, as I'd take Maddison over both of them, even if he does remind me a little too much of Jamie Tartt.

What's wrong with Harry Winks?

Well, it depend a lot on what you want JWP for. As he scores goals and is one of the best free kick takers in PL history. But one have to be aware that Winks stats in both defensive contribution and passing game is superior to JWPs.

I’d go for Eriksen, JWP doesn’t have the same passing range, he’s great at free kicks though, which is something we aren’t exactly blessed with in the talent department.

So…both.

JWP, but that should only be because of corners won't hit the first man!

Use old wavey arms as a sweetener to go back to Southampton & P/X for Ward-Prowse.

Then bring Eriksen in for free.

JWP, Eriksen, Skipp, Bentancur, Deki, Bryan.

That'll do for me.

money no object? Ward-Prowse. Considering we need 5 or 6 at least in the Summer and Eriksen is free then it's CE all day long.

Eriksen is absolute levels above JWP in open play. Ridiculous comparison when you think about it.

I'd happily have JWP in our squad for his dead ball ability but we are talking about Christian Eriksen here.

When discussing targets, most, fans appear to ignore obtainability.

Eriksen is a free transfer and is very obtainable for us provided he doesn't choose guaranteed first team football at the likes of Brentford over us.

Ward-Prowse has 4 years left on his contract, Southampton are financially stable is in his prime and having a good season. He'll be a very expensive signing.

Eriksen will be a first squad player not guaranteed to start every game on a free transfer. Ward-Prowse will cost the amount of money needed for him to be viewed as a long-term first team players.

They're just not comparable.

But to answer, Eriksen suits our needs more. I'm not convinced JWP would be a guaranteed first team start and the money could be better spent elsewhere.

JWP. Good at linking play, better at set pieces, younger. And Eriksen was desperate to leave us before. Why would he be desperate to return? So he could phone it in on a higher salary? If we got a fully committed Christian, then maybe it would be worth considering. The old adage about never go back comes to mind. Much why I'm not keen on MoPo returning either.

Eriksen's career plan was to get first team football as a young player at Ajax, then go to a good Prem club and once in his prime play for an elite club. He was pretty open about this.

Unfortunately, at the time he was ready to leave his form went downhill, possibly connected to a stomach injury, but mentally he was ready to leave.

He now has a few years left of his career. There's little to suggest he just wants to phone it in a collect a salary and I see no problem with him returning.

That's fair. I'm just a bit wary tbh. Once bitten etc.

Been wanting JWP for 3/4 years.
Get him and off-set the cost with Eriksen for free.
Betancur/Skipp/ JWP/ Eriksen any 3 from 4+ Doherty
with Hojbjerg and Winks for squad
Sell Royal/Winks or Hojb jerg if you like.
send Reguilónn back
Quality and experience, Prem ready
