My mate went to Moscow for the Man U - Chelsea CL final a few years ago...he hated every minute of it...not for the John Terry penalty miss but all of the stuff outside the stadium being heavy handed by the police every where he went (not necessarily near the football ground).

I imagine with the addition of the hostile home fans, it'll be quite a scary place to go, especially if any of the organised hooligans see this as an opportunity to have a go at English fans after France...

INFORMATION FOR SUPPORTERS TRAVELLING TO CSKA MOSCOW FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCHDAY TWO
Posted on 5 September 2016 - 16:00

Supporters who have applied for a ticket to our Champions League fixture with CSKA Moscow at Arena CSKA on September 27 are advised that a valid visa is a mandatory requirement of entry into the country.

The visa requirements have changed since our last visit to Russia in 2013 and now contain a biometric element that requires a personal visit to the Visa Application Centre (VAC).

Your passport must have a minimum of six months’ validity to enable a visa to be processed.

In order to obtain a visa, you will first need a ‘tourist visa voucher’ which can be provided by any tour/tourist company (charges may apply) in the UK handling Russian visas or through selected hotels – please check when making your hotel reservations.

You will also be required to provide full details of your travel plans and accommodation at the time of applying.

Further details on the visa application process can be found through the links below alongside more general advice on travelling to Russia:

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/Russia

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/russia/entry-requirements

These pages also contain information and links on how to sign up to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel and security SMS alerts for visiting Russia. We recommend that supporters travelling to Russia utilise these services to keep up to date with any changes to the latest travel and security advice.

We do regret that we are unable to offer any official transport to this match.

Match tickets will be held for collection at the venue. You must bring photo ID with you in order to collect your tickets and no exceptions can be made to this process.

Further advice and information regarding this match will be provided to travelling supporters closer to the matchday.

Anyone know any CSKA forums? I'd like to set up a meet with their top hooligans away from any police presence.

Slightly off topic but anyone going to Monaco away with the intention of sitting in the "home" end?

i bumped into a few crazy youths the other week, and their intentions are not football related, the only thing I would say is that was most probably their intentions before hearing about needing a visa, because looking at them i doubt they would even be able to obtain a VISA card:whistle:

What i dont get is how does not wearing your colours make anything better. Theyll know youre English and sitting in a bar drinking...

I know their fans are ****s but theyre not stupid, but it doesnt take a genius to figure youre a Spurs fan with or withiut tops etc.

I don't think they can say much else politically. I understand it to mean please keep a low profile outside the stadium and we are concerned for your welfare out there.....

Anyone know what UK time this kos at? Away games in Russia tend to start a bit earlier than the usual 7:45pms iirc although looking on BBC website it has this down for 745pm too, not sure that's right though?

What I would like to know is how Russia even gets to play in europe. Visiting clubs shouldn't have to warn their fans over their safety to this extreme
