Club Should rent a space and a secured party tent for travelling fans. Cost would mean nothing in relative terms and gesture would be wildly appreciated.

are you going?
Sadly no. But I actually would have if it wasn't for the fact that I'm stateside for the entire rest of the year. Just as last time we were in the CL. I wouldn't have let some mad Russians scare me though, but then again I hardly go looking for trouble anyway. How about your self?

I am only going to the Wembley matches so far, although we are trying to arrange to go to the away game in Monaco

Where abouts in the states are you? I'm still on Pacific time I think and wish I was still out in Vegas

Yeah, Monaco would be neat! I'm crossing the states from coast to coast, so once the trip is done I'll have seen probably 11-12 states from one coast to another. Right now I'm in the middle of the mountains. I actually almost went to Vegas earlier in September, but I changed plans. So for now, I can only cling on to the hope of either advancement in the CL or "demotion" to the EL so I can catch some European footie in February!

I was in Vegas right at the end of August, we got married out there

I enjoy watching football at breakfast time in the States though so you're not really missing out other than the live games and your trip sounds amazing, once in a life time type stuff so well worth a few missed CL matches

What I would like to know is how Russia even gets to play in europe. Visiting clubs shouldn't have to warn their fans over their safety to this extreme

Completely agreed. It's a joke that they get nothing more than the occasional slap on the wrist for all of the shit their "supporters" pull.

Just wear your stone island.
Guess these Russian fixtures are a bit like West Ham away in the old days. You know what's going to go down, and it ain't going to be good for you, but you still go for some idiotic reason. Definitely wouldn't do it now.

Even in the baddest times English hooligans are not in the Russians league , wouldn't go to watch a football match in Russia for free. Anyone going Tuesday be careful

I love it when these meat heads attempt to intellectualise their knuckle-dragging tendencies.

Ha, I was just thinking that. "Yeah, alright Tyler Duerden, wind your neck in." You can take our empire but you'll never take our right to smash a bottle in someone's face for no good reason.

Losers.

INFORMATION FOR SUPPORTERS TRAVELLING TO CSKA MOSCOW FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCHDAY TWO
Posted on 5 September 2016 - 16:00

Supporters who have applied for a ticket to our Champions League fixture with CSKA Moscow at Arena CSKA on September 27 are advised that a valid visa is a mandatory requirement of entry into the country.

cska_730.jpg

The visa requirements have changed since our last visit to Russia in 2013 and now contain a biometric element that requires a personal visit to the Visa Application Centre (VAC).

Your passport must have a minimum of six months’ validity to enable a visa to be processed.

In order to obtain a visa, you will first need a ‘tourist visa voucher’ which can be provided by any tour/tourist company (charges may apply) in the UK handling Russian visas or through selected hotels – please check when making your hotel reservations.

You will also be required to provide full details of your travel plans and accommodation at the time of applying.

Further details on the visa application process can be found through the links below alongside more general advice on travelling to Russia:

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/Russia

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/russia/entry-requirements

These pages also contain information and links on how to sign up to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel and security SMS alerts for visiting Russia. We recommend that supporters travelling to Russia utilise these services to keep up to date with any changes to the latest travel and security advice.

We do regret that we are unable to offer any official transport to this match.

Match tickets will be held for collection at the venue. You must bring photo ID with you in order to collect your tickets and no exceptions can be made to this process.

Further advice and information regarding this match will be provided to travelling supporters closer to the matchday.

Hmm…that sounds nice and easy.

I doubt that, and I even doubt the actual situation is any worse than going to places like Rotterdam are now, it's just that the old bill situation and the general environment is a fuck of a lot different.

read today that the chief of moscow police has called a meeting with moscow "fans" - trying to find where it was to post here

hopefully to tell them to lay off as it might have negative connotations if they kick off before the world cup, mind you he did previously say the french police were only used to policing gay pride marches and not used to policing real football fans during the euros...
