Cup final tickets - shambolic joke as always

It's got nothing to do with ST holders. They get a ticket regardless. They don't have to do away games to ensure a cup final ticket, it's a privilege of being an ST holder. Their loyalty tally only affects away applications.

Listen closely because I'm about to explain why wiping points for members is fair. Say someone bought a membership 15 years ago, and amassed 300 points in the following 4 years. All of a sudden they no longer go to games whether loss of interest or financial status, but maintain their membership. They keep the 300 points but don't even look at WHL or an away game for 11 years. Had they not introduced the wiping, they would be going to the final this year and the previous semi & final we were in and forced the cut off to be much much higher. If you've been going and had points wiped but are still a regular visitor or attend away games you'll be fine because you'll easily have enough points amassed over the last 5 years. 5 years for 185 points considering the amount of games we play in a season is easy if you go regularly. Hell, isn't it 15 points to renew a bronze membership ? That's 75 Without seeing a game over the 5 years ! It's a fair system & for clarity I've got 136 points so I'm not going. But I'm not complaining because to me, the system works.
If the built up those points they were extremely loyal at 1 point though I personallg don't think it's fair that that loyalty is wiped from History

Maybe not keep all their points but to have that loyalty erased from history is wrong imo plus I doubt snyone who had given up going completely would bother renewing their membership

And for extreme examples say someone had followed the team everywhere for 11 years up till 5 years ago but can now only attend the odd game due to illness or some other reason like that their dedication for the 11 years forgotten wiped like it never happened

I really wonder tho whether in the future the value of being a member will be worth it in the long run, especially if there will be no reward for loyalty when it comes to cup finals & champions league matches.
There's been talk the club could start selling Category A home matches on a loyalty-point basis once we move into the new stadium. So if you didn't get a membership and never went to the less glamorous games, you wouldn't get league tickets for Arsenal, Chelsea, United etc.

Apparently if you have 169 points you can log on and buy tickets, still not low enough for me but some of you guys might be able to get some (y)

Just checked (I've got a ticket but my Dad missed out with 176 points) but seems to still be restricted?
Will keep checking, though...

It's definitely not restricted on 176 points. The account holder should have received an email about it as well.

You got until 5 tomorrow, but the tickets closest to the pitch are probably gone by now.

Haha I'd logged on as me rather than him. Got a ticket for him in the block next to me but his is 7 rows closer and £20 cheaper.
Fuming! :p

No, your loyalty points are calculated from what you have when the application period starts.

You'll have to cross your fingers that there are some tickets available after this batch. Deadline tomorrow, so Wednesday morning might be a good time to call up the ticket office.

Someone who I work with has a son who works in the clubs marketing department, she's going because he's been given six tickets and she doesn't even like football. She couldn't see my point that the tickets should only go to fans of the club. Absolute joke.

For any of you who missed out on a Cup Final ticket, this has just come on the OS :

Due to additional availability, the Club is now in a position to offer a ticket for the Capital One Cup Final to all One Hotspur Members that applied before the original deadline with 169 or more Loyalty Points.

Saw that just now. Amazed that every member who applied will now get a ticket.

It's great news but interesting the 'number of returned/cancelled tickets from the initial allocation' (a direct quote from the announcement today).

In some way I thin this shows the shift in general fan mindset from Cup competitions to Top Four since 2008. In 2008 there were virtually no returned or cancelled tickets and huge excitement about the final.

It's not quite felt that way with this one, which is a shame because I sm so ridiculously excited about it!

Hope we manage to shift these and create a stunning, loud atmosphere on Sunday!!

Well if they lower it again by just 4 points I sure as hell will be snapping one up to help create an atmosphere. At present I am contemplating splashing out £300 for a ticket that was offered to me yesterday

All members that applied with more than 169 loyalty points.

169 loyalty points are more than was required for the two other finals, even though the total number of loyalty points are assumed to be lower due to the new 5 year only policy.

A number of returned/cancelled tickets and a number of extra allocated tickets. I don't think there are many supporters with season tickets or over 185 loyalty points on their membership that would return their tickets if they didn't have to. I think it's more likely to stem from unused corporate or employee tickets, rather than fans.

Or perhaps people booked tickets then on reflection couldn't afford it, or groups couldn't all go so backed out?

Blimey, is that how much they are going for now?!

Oh well, I wish I could have gone but I've got to lie on my back for 2 months as I've just had back surgery!

Will have to plan a party with all this stuff...
