Most of those recoveries are for his own mistakes. Missed passes or bad positioning. It happened in all of the games I've watched Ajax last season. The highlight video will show you only the recovery. He's very strong and fast. That's for sure. But the best defender is the one that avoids danger, not the one that saves it in the last gasp.
I insist De Ligt is so much better and more our type of CB. I wish we would go for him instead

This match video is a better representation of how he plays

I'm not too worried. Expect he will play at right back or part of a 3 until he's been well coached.

I think the utility aspect is what Poch is thinking.

The guy is a beast and has potential to be one of the best centre halfs in the world. Yes please.

I don't agree with Ossie. Guy is class. Poch will
Make him Universe Class

If he teaches him how to defend, he could.
I didn't say he's shit. Just that right now, he's being overrated because of his strength and speed.

The thing about the Ajax academy their players are coached to play in any position, from the Cruyff days and the "total football" ethos.

Verts, Toby, Eriksen need I go on?

Lovely, younger than Wimmer so possibly more willing to sit on the bench for a while still. Clearly talented and physically a beast. As a poster said above a lot of that video is his recoveries from his own mistakes due to the fact that his physical attributes allow him to recover. The type of player that should blossom under Poch. Physically a beast, a few months working with Poch and learning from Jan and Toby will do him a world of good as he settles in. 35mil is steep but honestly its become the norm in this market for a fairly decent squad player for a team as good as Spurs. Also really happy for Wimmer, really like him but feel he deserves to start somewhere.

Thought we would have looked for a left footed young CB with CCV being a right footer

Why is the Sun suddenly becoming the newspaper that is reporting our transfers before anyone else?

He's not a right back, don't know if he's ever even played right back.
If we did sign him he'll be a starter in a back 3. Poch will turn him into one of the best CBs in Europe, the guy has unlimited potential.

He's not an academy player. He was signed last season from Atletico Nacional
