i honestley can't think of an english CB who has been better this season than dawson. it is an absolute disgrace and terrible misjudgement that upson is even considered in dawson'ss league by capello he should be miles ahead.

In the B-C world, the negatives outweigh the positives about ten-to-one; only total perfection is worthy of true praise.

No, only perfection is worthy of being called perfection. Everything else is worthy of being called what it is. Just because you're happy to paint history with a happy ending doesn't mean the rest of us have to.

Dawson has been very impressive. He is a better defender than Upson, and while he can make an error once in a while he does no more than someone like Terry. If someone watched the two players today for the first time they would have thought Dawson was the England regular (but they probably could tell Terry was the see-you-next-tuesday)

BC, seriously. When will you admit defeat? You are a fucking moron. Quite literally unable to admit that a player can improve beyond your wildest expectations.

Dawson was all the things you said once upon a time for one reason or another. He is now a king. Stop being such a **** mate. It's boring xxx

Look at this thread. There is no 'rest of us' B-C, it's you, alone in your miserable, blinkered negativity.

You need intelligent players who read the game and react with dexterity in every position, including CB.

You mean abit like his reading of Drogba's run and excellent tackle?

Fuck off mate you are a sad boring twat :duh:

John Terry has been awful recently and yesterday he was all over the fucking place. He could well have been given his marching orders for the ridiculous clumsy challenge on Defoe. He was turned so easily by Defoe it was pathetic the way Terry was scrambling and pulling at Defoe's shirt. Even pav turned him inside out for his 1st booking and then another clumsy timed challenge on Bale, saw Terry get a red card(not the signs of an INTELLIGENT man) can't afford that in the world cups. These same things that you fucking claim Dawson does most weeks, well you talk fucking shit buddy because Dawson simply doesn't perform in that manner. And tell me a player who doesn't make a mistake during a game? in midfield if you make one then there's always plenty of cover and defenders around to tidy up. At the back if you make a mistake then usually it will be punished and that magnifies the error and is obviously more costly.

Dawson has been almost ever present, more so then KING, WOODGATE or BASSONG, in a team that has conceded less at home than any other team and also has our best defensive record(and possibly even clean sheets) than any Tottenham side for a longtime. Not just down to Dawson granted, but he has been one of the major reasons why.

So take your stats and your dislike for the man(you are very much on your own in your views of Dawson) and shove them up your anal passage.

No offence.

Dawson has been excellent this season. I love having him as captain and I'm absolutely delighted for him.

Football is an emotional game, which often reflects life's tribulations and nuances. Emotionally I can understand why Dawson is popular, I admire the blokes spirit and endeavour but I know we will always be vulnerable to quality strikers when he is around.

Oh right sorry how stupid of me. So you mean better quality strikers than Drogba?

Is Drogba not a quality striker then? World class category i would put him in.

I mean Drogba had countless chances yesterday :duh:

After all, our defensive record with Dawson as the ever-present this season's been crap.

Oh, hang on....

I think he will go to the World Cup after playing in front of Capello yesterday. Rewatched the match when i got in, and there was a moment where Dawson won a tackle or a header against Drogba (I cant remember which ha) and they panned to Cappello who was looking so chuffed.

Yup. After Dawson's world class tackle on Drogba they panned to Capello who had a nice smirk on his face. He was there for the Arescum game too if i recall correctly. I think our Daws will finally be recognized on the international stage.

I can't believe any of our fans could criticise Dawson this season. He's been pretty much what we've needed, with King and Woodgate unable to play. He's stepped up and has finally taken to playing the "senior centre back" role alongside Bassong. We're nearing the end of the season and we've conceded just 12 goals at home! We've conceded 34 in total. Just 2 more than Chelsea, who sit at the top of the tree!

By way of a comparison, Arsenal have conceded 55! Man Utd have conceded the least, just 27 goals right now.

I maybe biased (!) but I can't think of a centre half who's played as well as Dawson this season, I really can't.

I love Michael Dawson. I loved him when he was a decent defender. I like to think he's repaid that love by becoming one of the best centre backs in the league.

Dawson and Gomes have a special relationship. And i'm diggin it.

Dawson for England! Better than Terry this season.

I noticed this too. Think it can only be good to have the defensive unit so close.

I posted some stats(facts) about the goals we had conceded without Dawson at the back

3 against each of the following Arsenal, Chelsea, Sunderland and Man United plus another 2 up at Bolton.

Thats 14 in five games and takes our goals against with Dawson playing down to 20?

Now BC proceeded to argue that most of them were against the top 3. Well we have just played and beaten 2 of them and only conceded ONE in each of those games. We have kept more clean sheets with Dawson playing than at any other time.

The facts are undisputable that we are far far more tighter defensively with Dawson in the side, unless your are a full on idiot. There are simply no valid arguements which anyone could put forward to prove any different, its there for everyone to see.

Although i would love to see someone try and disprove all of this :hump:

From what I can see we have kept two clean sheets in all competitions without Dawson; one against Burnley which hardly counts and the other against Sunderland where Gomes' penalty save kept that shut out. And Dawson came on for Bassong and King in both games respectively.

Therefore, he's clearly not good enough.
