While not advocating for his return, those who say no outright has to remember that football is a business and there are no such things as perpetual enemies. Deals will be made when all parties deem they could benefit.

I just can't see Levy caring about 'water under the bridge' all that much. I doubt he takes much personally when it comes to footballers and their 'ambitions'. I can see him not liking the age though, at 31 that's pretty much a 5m loss plus wages. I still think it would be an astute signing though.

I can't see Berbatov wanting to come to fight for a place, he'd be rolling back in expecting to be the main man.

Could be a very astute signing, but I doubt it will happen.

if we don't get Ade and sign only him then he will be the main man.

I'd carry him back, on my hands and knees. Singing him a little lullaby. I just can't help but love him so

Don't want him back, don't think he'd be the same player he was and wouldn't want to trade the Utd bench for ours and I should hope we wouldn't be lining him up as our number one.

In my opinion it would be similar to the return of Jurgen, Teddy or Robbie who's second spells at the club were all far less successful than their first (except for one day in Selhurst for Jurgen of course)

I don't see how we could have Adebayor and Berbatov in the squad but I'd be equally happy with either to be honest as long as they were backed up by another striker who would push them all the way and actually make them work to earn their place in the team.

I think Adebayor's mobility makes him the better option, but if Berbatov has still got it (and I think he has) then he'd fit in very well with our current team.

There's something about the idea of Rafa and Berbatov in the same team which just makes me salivate.

Berbatov and Rafa together on the same team would be awesome. Out attack would be so classy the opposing teams defenders would go blind and we'd win every mach 10-0.

His talent was never the issue. He was supremely talented. Should have been right up amongst the world elite during his peak yrs, such was the talent he possessed. Didn't even come close though did he? Ask yourselves why.

Well... when you leave the best club for a minor one, that's what you get ;)

There is no reason why he couldn't be a top player for at least another 6 years

He has hardly done any running and used up energy in his career, he hasn't had long term injuries so there is no reason why he couldn't be another Sheringham and still be at the top of his game at 36/37

If we do sign him and he starts the season with 3 hat-tricks, all the naysayers will call him a legend.

too much history with Levy for this to happen in my opinion but personally would have no trouble if he did come back but cant see it

I don't think Levy would let history get in the way of a good business deal. He's ruthless himself and probably secretly admired Berbatov for being so hard nosed.

He had Kaboul back after a less than amicable first time around, I remember the argument they had where Kaboul said he will not go to sunderland and will go where he wants so maybe levy isn't the bearer of deep grudges

The reason Berbatov won't be coming back to Spurs isn't down to Levy being pig-headed.

Beause he just wasn't a good fit with the club he was at? If he'd stayed with us, he would have continued being among the world elite, which at £ 30m, he was. So you could say he was undone by his (normal) ambition, but that just amounts to not being a good fit with the club he ended up at. They didn't play as much 442 as they had been doing, for instance. His attitude wasn't at all typical Utd. He should have been right up there, but Rooney already was. It can't obviously be traced to his character flaws, the failure.

In a way, the whole of Bulgaria was demanding he make that move. I'm not sure how much choice he had in it.
