We could Play Son at left back, ok I know it's not a cup semi final at Wembley against Chelsea but....
Seriously though we have a hole at lwb so best to keep the back three and rwb in place then it's just the left that's a problem. If we start shifting people around by going to a back four we're introducing extra areas of weakness. I expect we'll play Danjuma on the left and hope for the best, I don't expect Everton to come at us in waves.
Did you watch them against Arsenal. They were on them non stop. If they do that against us we'll be vulnerable.

Hopefully kane can do the business for us

Where does this rank on the “oh christ there’s still more to go?” list in comparison to other dead end of seasons without a manager runs? Think it’s above 2021, 2014 and 2004 in terms of mood, but the Arsenal element really puts the thumb on the scale for “the worst” (apart from 04 obviously).

Oh, shit. I forgot we were a football club and not just one of those shitty Bravo reality TV programs.

As Chairman of the 'Take a draw now Society'
I am temporarily suspending the take a draw now Society
under Section d rule 3 (Things are now beyond a joke contingency powers)
until the end of the season.

Draws won't hack it. We need to win our games from here on in.
Matters will return to normal, if and when we get a Manager,
and If and when we get a DOF.
See you next season hopefully

You don't have to do anything revolutionary, just be flexible depending on the phase of play.

Defensively I'd just defend in something like a 4-4-2:

When you get the ball, can transition into our "normal" shape. Lenglet can tuck in to make a three, Porro can push forward:

And so we end up with that 3-2-5 shape. We've just effectively got an extra "attacker" rather than a "defender" than what we usually do.

As said, it get's an extra attacking option in the team whilst trying to solve the issue on the left side. I'd rather defend with a four with Lenglet slightly out of position, than trying to shoehorn an attacker into a more defensive position. Also think if we don't automatically drop into a back five that we might be able to press the opposition with a more effective shape & number.

Can also rotate and switch across the front, eg. Son/Danjuma to see who/where they can find the most effective position on the pitch, so not such a rigid approach to play.

we should play to our strengths which are set pieces so play to win as many corners as possible unfortunately now these last 10 games is about winning the style of play cant be much worse so get the WB's and inside forwards to play for the corners

Everton play 3 in the middle so need to not get outnumbered in there. This allows Porro and Danjuma to stay high up.

The fact this has happened often enough to be it's own genre of season is both hilarious and troubling.

I'd say this season's probably the best of the lot since we're actually still in the hunt for top 4. If we go on a bad run and fall out of that race completely then it will be much more grim. I'm just trying to block out the Arsenal thing as, which it's horrendous, it's outside of our control and could feasibly happen any season, really.

Worst of all of those was the Sherwood season IMO. Nothing to play for, **** in charge, players kicking off behind the scenes - it all just felt so hopeless. Even though we actually got a few half-decent results, we just looked like such an incoherent blob of a team and got steamrollered by most teams better than us (5-1 City, 4-0 Liverpool, 4-0 Chelsea).
