I don't really post in here, but has anyone said that he's going to walk away from the job if he isn't backed this window yet?
I think that's a pretty fresh take

Why would he be any worse than Lewis? I think Ashley actually even invested his own money to inject liquidity into Newcastle early on before he gave up on the club. Unlike Lewis, at least Ashley would attend our games.
I'm really surprised this link hasn't been made more.

We have a more savvy Ashley in charge.

He gave an interview talking about our issues won’t be resolved in the January window so it’s very unlikely.

I suspect he's going to be disappointed come the outcome of this window either way, as i can only see max 2 coming in & not being able to shift as many as we'd like.

Looking at the players we are after It very much seems Conte wants to go for the same line up as he went for at Chelsea rather then Inter. In his 343 the two CMs were more physical battlers then creatives. However I also wonder if that changed when we lost out on Vlahovic. Interesting because I had assumed he would go for something similar to his inter tactics.

The only thing I’m a little surprised about is our interest in Luis Diaz. There’s no doubt he’s a fine player, but why we want yet another right footed left winger slightly baffles me, surely it would make more sense to bring in a right winger. I know Son can play on the right wing but he isn’t as lethal on his left foot and moving our second best player into a position that isn’t his best to accommodate a new signing seems a little counter productive. Still, Diaz is an exciting talent and it would be exciting to see how he develops our attack if it happens.

We need to be proactive now ready for the summer. Who remembers when Liverpool signed Salah for £35m in 2017 and then Neymar went for a ridiculous amount and the values went sky high. That was all about being proactive and the reason why Liverpool have succeeded in the transfer market compared to other teams around them.
Thing is, we had a spell when we were probably doing better than anyone in terms of recruitment. It wasn't that long-ago.

Since then we've signed players like Sanchez, lo Celso and N'dombele for our record fees (more or less). It wasn't impossible that they'd have a similar impact to Alisson or Van Dijk. Ostensibly each of them appeared to have what we needed.

We really do struggle with big signings. But these are fine margins.

With Levy in charge, who only cares about money, Conte has no chance.

Trippier pointed out to the sale of one player that probably cost them winning something.

“For me, the big one was selling Mousa Dembele that January,” he added. “I think I can speak on behalf of the players who were there.

“In the dressing room, he was an unbelievable person and all the lads loved him, but on the pitch he was the kind of player who would make a couple of per cent difference. That’s what wins you things.

“It baffled me that they would sell him. I know he was going to be a free (transfer) in the summer, but with the things we were challenging for, I would have kept him there and then let him go. He was the difference between winning a trophy or not.”

Injuries broke him by then, he wasn't that difference maker anymore. He missed 22 games in his last half-season with us.

Thought only the folks on this site were great at writing creative revisionist fan-fic but apparently Trippier is too.

Mousa couldn't play more than 60 minutes that season in the games he was on the pitch, which wasn't many.

Also why don't you go put this in the ENIC thread, has nothing to do with Conte.

I don’t see Conte walking til the end of next season, unless his options come the summer are not fulfilled. On the other hand, I don’t think Levy is so daft that he’d give up this once in a tenure opportunity to improve things. Both levy & Conte are winners in their prospective fields; it’s a good opportunity for both parties to increase their future stocks. I only see positive outcomes

Man has worked at football clubs that do business properly and he fell out with them. Fck knows what he’s thinking about this shit show. Will be absolutely astounded if he and probably Paratici haven’t walked by start of next season.

Would anyone be bothered if Paratici left? So far I think he’s stealing a living. Time to prove me wrong but I’m not holding out much hope.

We've probably promised him a big summer overhaul and he's probably semi-understanding of the issues that January brings. But if pre-season rolls around and nobody is in there is a chance he could walk away imo. He will absolutely want two or three major names in by the start of July you'd think, and if Dele, GLC and Alli are gone in this window there will be absolutely no excuses and nowhere to hide for Levy.

Dele and Dele’s brother?
