i don’t get some of you…

Conte has from day one slaughtered most of the squad, with not good enough in the media- and always asking for more signings.

it’s SHIT man-mangement.

take this conversation directly with levy.

How the hell is he expecting a tune out of the same squad he continues to disrespect in interviews?

I was all in the Conte train. Made bet’s with my friends that Spurs would compete for the title this year.

but it’s clear as day- that Conte don’t fit with Spurs- and I’m personally sick of his excuses.

play the same shit system, that even my grandmother can see is not working. (She’s by the way dead.)

top it today in his post match presser that he is satisfied with the players and their job today.

levy is also at fault, but my god- everyone expected better from him.

shit, shit football - and to stubborn to change.
Conte needs to go.

That settles it lads.

Can't really debate such a compelling argument.

What Conte is saying in that video is absolutely bang on as well. Went in worried i'd be watching him essentially saying goodbye but i've actually come away feeling a little more reassured by what he says and how he said it.

We either behave like the big boys and try to compete or we dont, it really is that simple.

Go out and get 2 top players in January and follow it up with another 3 in the summer. We're either in or out, gamble Tottenham.

People need to watch it. He’s either saying Levy has agreed to back him with £60/70m players or he’s calling him out too. If it’s the latter then I can see this all going tits up very quickly.

The football has been bad recently but I want to keep conte. We need some stability and he needs to sign that contract (he won’t though).

But that's a debate for another thread.....

He has been honest from the beginning about this taking several windows. His post match comments were measured and accurate. I would be surprised if Levy embarrasses himself by sacking him at this point.

Hmmm. '"fans" from abroad' shouldn't have a say?

What are you, 2 years old?

You're obviously too far up your own opinionated arse to understand the cost of following Spurs abroad.

Here in the US, I have to pay an exorbitant amount of money on four, yes FOUR, TV channels (ESPN+ for the cup games, Paramount for European games, Peacock for some of the league games, and Directv for the rest of the league games, PLUS SpursPlay for all friendlies, PLUS travel to my local official Spurs club, plus international mail for merchandise (the merchandise itself costs a fortune), PLUS airfare, hotel, etc. to come over and watch them play live.

Also, this '"fan" abroad' was a season ticket holder at Spurs (probably) before your parents were even born, when I traveled up and down the country to watch us get nearly relegated, then relegated, then promoted (those were the days!).

Before answering me with another inane comment, please take a moment to change your nappies and, oh yes, pipe down.
Come on since you moved it is diapers ,(Great post)

Managers aren't chess players, it doesn't matter who manage us unless the players are good enough and in the image of the managers philosophy.

It's quite simple. We have ONLY 2 options.

We either sacked Conte now and make the best of the situation allowing whatever mug to come in and make use of the window.

FULLY back Conte with EXACTLY what he needs.

Nothing in-between.
This assumes the same as your option two.

What is most likely in your scenario one is exactly in between - that Daniel 'i know better than you' Levy hires his 19th manager in 20 years, and doesn't back him.

Who ever is the manager doesn’t disguise the fact that we need players. Half the squad is inadequate. Unless the board backs the manager, it won’t work.

Do you think the squad he inherited only needed 5 players (I'm including Bentancur and Kulu here) to compete?

Keep in mind that the teams around us strengthened too. 5 players isn't even the minimum.
It’s the players Conte called for! I don’t know what player he needs or doesn’t need. But if you can’t get the first choise then you have to settle with the other choices. Conte dont even give those players a chance, for example spence who he says is not ready, maybe try to motivate him to do better in training or whatever instead of just saying hes not ready and its not who he wanted in the first place. That’s just very childish…

The problem for the club is Conte is both right about the squad and underperforming himself.

Absolutely, some of these players are not good enough and there is a serious rebuild that needs to take place.

On other other hand, Conte has been very poor - there are hardly any players he has made better, the performances are well under what the squad is capable of, his attempts to influence the game with substitutions or tactical adjustments are either late or nonexistent, and he has been a pretty mixed bag in the media (especially around the contract talks).

Spence was a club signing.

Conte had alternatives he wanted but as Trix said the club didn't go out to get them, they wanted more club signings that didn't materialize.

Backing the manager isn't buying the players Levy wants, it's buying the players Conte wants.

We're in a pickle now, because it would be madness to back Conte heavily in January without him commiting to us long term. But if he's unwilling to do that, we're better off parting ways sooner rather than later, because this is unbearable to watch, and it's been like that all season.
