If he walks he walks, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. If he wants to stick around and actually do the job he’s paid for, then there’ll be no-one happier than me. But if all he’s going to do is moan about what he doesn’t have and give the impression we’re beneath him and should be grateful he even looked in our direction, all while doing a piss-poor job then there’s not much point in him staying on.

Ultimately it's too costly and risky to invest the cash to win things. The monetary returns aren't worth it so levy won't, he just wants us in CL as that will keep good revenue coming in and fans relatively placid. When so many other teams are spending huge sums it makes it even less likely that throwing money at it will mean success so in a perverse way the others spending so much money makes it less likely Levy will

I really think this debate is a different one to what we are experiencing at the moment. The fans are booting off because the football is dire and we go behind every single game for months. That isn't a "levy isn't interested in spurs being title challengers", it's "spurs are playing like one of the worst sides to watch in the league".

If we were rumbling along as a fairly decent side without quite the cutting edge of a title challenger there wouldn't be a meltdown on the board and we'd all be saying 'get your hand in your pocket mr levy to help Conte out'. As it happens we are a troubled team with some really odd/poor tactical choices on display.

What Conte is saying in that video is absolutely bang on as well. Went in worried i'd be watching him essentially saying goodbye but i've actually come away feeling a little more reassured by what he says and how he said it.

We either behave like the big boys and try to compete or we dont, it really is that simple.

Go out and get 2 top players in January and follow it up with another 3 in the summer. We're either in or out, gamble Tottenham.
If only I could believe this not be long to we know the answer.

£60m on a prem proven striker. We barely play him unless forced to buy injury and when we do, it's out of position.

Conte's too stubborn to work within the confines set by Levy.

(and I think Richy was a superb signing)
Confine’s says it all, pathetic.

We could have got more in the Summer but needed to shift the big earners off the books and no one would pay for them.
This is a really key point that many on here seem to forget when discussing our summer window. If we had permanently shifted the people we had to loan am certain we would have got at least 1, probably 2 top players in

Levy sacks Conte and I’d be amazed if another manager comes anywhere near us.

It's a job in top league with top 6 club resourcewise with some nice talent in roster. Yeah, I can see how every manager in the world would turn that down. Besides even Atletico on the days of Jesus Gil got managers to the job.

It’s an excuse though really, we could have got those players and risked it but we are always risk adverse.

So would you rather he didn't say it and he just accepts young players that aren't ready so we can carry on with mediocrity because if one bad result?
I’d personally rather he didn’t talk bollocks to deflect from his own failings. Would he rather we had had Tyrone Mings and Ashley Young in defence? Was he looking ruefully over at McGinn and Buendia and wondering what might have been?

Levy's confines are fit only for a property investment company, not a football club, let alone one trying to achieve something on the pitch.

Bring in Poch and Maddison. Contes football is rubbish. Levy won’t back him so fuck it. Let’s at least try and enjoy some football matches.
If I knew that Maddison would join if Poch did I think I’d take that trade.

He has won with teams that have had top 3 wage budgets and almost every time on par with the largest. With Inter gap to Juventus was bit larger, but their payroll was 2nd highest.

I'm by no means a Conte biographer, but I'm pretty sure his first Juve team wasn't built with crazy money. They were still recovering from relegation as I recall.

The point is the bar here is much lower.

His bar might be to win the league, ours is not. We've not won it for 61 years.

Our bar is for us to be competitive. To have a team and squad of good players able to play the system, and experienced enough to perform in front of 60,000 expectant fans.

A problem that will still be here if Poch, Tuchel, or whoever else arrive.

We'll still need to buy 5 senior players, and now we'll need to replace a £150m striker too whose contract is expiring.

The greatest goalscorer in 140 years leaving us for free to win things we couldn't, all because Levy had to try and squeeze out a few million more for Winks and Tanganga.

We failed to add what we needed because the squad was too bloated.

Pure ego. If we were a PLC the shareholders would have sacked Levy long ago.

I mean you would seem to know all about talking bollocks..

Conte walking is an impossible spin job for enic/levy.
They sack him they’ll say it’s because of results. He leaves in the summer they probably put out it was for family reasons.

If he walks next week there has to be no coming back for levy, everyone knows he’ll be walking because lack of funds, and that will surely turn the ones on the edge, over the edge.

Depends if Poch returning is enough to placate everyone for the time being and bring some much needed "feel good" factor back.
